painting ideas for my AAR hood...

Well I was thinking...an ALL semi-gloss black hood would seem kinda boring. I thought up this concept at work today to spice things up. How do you think this would look? And be honest...

I couldn't do a vice-versa pic, cuz the background was already black, but picture a black border around the hood, rest of the hood silver, and the scoop is black. Or should I just go all black? This isn't going to happen for a while, but I'm just trying to plan ahead.

paint it the stock color except leave the scoop black.

Makes the scoop look like pincers. I think I'm with Anonymous User on this one. I'd like so see an example, but I think it would look better all silver, scoop black.

i would paint it all one color... other wise it might seem as the scoop was just a cheap stick-on.

I'd make it fuctional and then paint it Bright Silver Metallic (PS2) to match the rest of the car

^ i don't think you can really make it functional... you can cut a hole in it, but just that wouldn't make 'functional'. it would look better though.

I would say all flat/satin black would be best if you wanna keep the theme going correctly. The way you posted it in the photo MAY look like it's a stuck on scoop, from a distance at least, so i'd avoid that. Perhaps, with the scoop painted flat black, and the rest of the hood silver it would have a 'shaker' kinda look, even tho it's a different style scoop, but even then it may look like a stick on one.

I'd say paint it flat black/satin black, and put some badging on the side of the scoop, like 2.0L SOHC or something.

Yeah, I think that would look too tacky myself...it would look like a "fake" stick-on hood scoop from Lund or AVS or something. I'll go with either black or silver...prolly black though.
