How to go about swapping your bumper to an SRT bumper...

I have one I really will not end up using, but can't find a box big enough for it, so I havnt bothered to make a sale post. I have no idea where to get a box that big. I left the box it came in at the greyhound station

Go to a body repair shop and I bet you they will have a box big enough for it and it just might be free.

remeber, you can also tie the ends intogether, and REALLY get the over-all dimensions down. It doesn't hurt the bumper, just the paint. It's how I've shipped both of my fronts.

so u need an srt4 hood to put the srt4 front bumper on a 2001 neon rt? what would it look like if i dont have the hood

There would be a larger gap between the hood and bumper.

No, the SRT extends a little farther down than the regular Neon hood. Width wise they're the same.

I'm actually doing a complete SRT-4 bumpers and rockers swap right now onto my 02 sxt. I have the front bumper on and I have about a 1/2" gap along the top of my bumper where the hood meets. My hood is a carbon fiber hood. I haven't tried it yet, but I was gonna see what happens if i'd unbolt the hood and move it down to adjust it. I'll let you know when I do this if it works or not. I'm still waiting for my headlights to come in.. right now my neon has plastic bags for eyes.

I dunno.. i've seen SRTs where the hood lined up exactly with the bumper.. Maybe i wasn't being clear? I'll take some pics.. lol.

try moving your hood latch itself down a bit. its sort of a pain, but with some patience and strength, it can rid of that gap

just a tip, i heard you can adjust the latch, maybe dropping it a little bit would close the gap between the top of the bumper and the hood :S.

Worked for me.. but I just seen that the post before mine said the same thing lol, I didn't read all pages just the first one. My bad!

If you have problems with them not sitting on the same level. You know those two rubber tower thingys... screw them out a bit to bring the hood level back up on the sides!

Those little rubber things are used to "adjust" the hood. Not bend the sides up to match the fenders.

well i believe since dropping the latch to fill in the gap between the hood and bumper. he was concerned that the hood would not be level with the fenders. so since the latch is solid and secure and lowered it would pull the hood down. then if you counter-act the downforce by raising those rubber things they would have enough force to push the hood up a bit to level it off. Also giving it a nice tight fit. Just a thought, i never tampered with them at all and mine sets nice. Minus the carbon fiber warping in the winter. Did not know that happened but happened on my buddy's srt as well...

well if the latch is lowered and those are raised its gonna put some serious force on it everytime you close the hood which could end up bending it

how far down do you think you have to lower your latch? its a 1" gap i believe the issue is. You don't want it touching your bumper or you will have rubbing. So dropping the latch a little bit to make the cap say 1/2" or 1/4" and possibly moving the rubber things should not put too much force on it. Those rubber things can only go soo high. Same as on the trunk, I remember when I had my stereo I had to twist the rubber things out soo far that i had to pretty much force my trunk closed and I never bent it :S

BUT, I doubt it unless you drill the holes for the pins when the hoods at its lowest point. Don't they come pre-drilled anyways?

Since I don't think anyone has shown what it actually takes for an '03+ conversion here is what I did (and no the headlights do not need to be switched)...
