Just wondering what yall thought of carbon fiber hood pins,do they make some that match a carbon fiber hood good.Does anyone have any pictures of their carbon fiber hood pins on their car or anyone other cars. Also do yall have any pictures of carbon fiber eyelids. Can you buy any carbon fiber vinyl that looks really like carbon fiber?

I have never heard of carbon fiber hood pins, just regular aluminum hood pins. I hear they rust though :( I had some for my hood once, but didnt want to drill into my hood

I'm not a big fan of hood pins.....but at 113mph last sunday on the way down the track......my hood started vibrating like hell.....with only 1 thin later of fiberglass holding the actual latch onto the CF hood, I had to do something.

This was the closest I could find to "matching"....the pins are a nice black color along with the shield plates. I'm trying to find some black pins as well, but this will do for safety for now.

Pics also include some view of my CF lids.

No, there is no CF vinyl that actually looks like CF.

Hood pins rust because of the quality. You can buy locking pins that will not rust but they cost a pretty penny..... about 100 bux a set.

I just put S style CBD eyelids on my 05 today. I snapped some pics but for some reason they didn't take on my camera. Dunno why. I'll try to get some again later.

haven't seen CF pins but as long as you get a quality hood pin setup they shouldn't rust, just find out what they're made out of before you buy them. IMO I don't think they're needed unless you plan on going fast a lot and/or your CF or Fiberglass hood is rather thin or just a CF shell with no fiberglass bottom.

may not need hood pins

Post by NEON2NV2001 » Sun May 07, 2006 10:37 pm

I may not need hood pins after all.The only reason I was wanting them was because my hood don't really sit down flush wth my fender on the right side.Someone was telling me that I can do some adjusting on it to make it sit flush.Has anyone had to do that to make their hood sit flush? As for the eyelids, does anyone know where you can get them for a reasonable price?

Yes, theres a way to adjust the flushness of your hood. Ill take a pic of it tomorrow if i can remember, but if you op your hood, look at the top of the frame by the fender, theres like a rubber/plastic bolt. should be one on each side, just simply turn it 1/4 turns on the side that needs adjusting, and close the hood to test. Keep doing that till you get it to the right spot.
