Strange the 8000k look pretty close to mine..

Jason what do yours look like? Do you have a pic?

I see where you're coming from Mike, I don't think you're going to be able to get that unless you line up 10 cars with different color temps then take a picture that like, just like what cassi posted above since you can easily see the difference in their color temps. Either that or take pictures using the same camera with same shutter and aperture settings to keep everything consistant for light exposure. I think thats about your best bet in comparing something so close as 6000 to 6500 or 7000.

There doesn't seem to be a huge difference between 6500k and 7000k. But then again they aren't side by side. I know when I look at the Charger's they look like mine, but when they're side by side you can see a difference.

(brand new, sealed in the box and they ARE real PIAA bulbs before someone chimes in w/ ebay sucks. it doesnt suck if you know what youre looking at)

Was it a kit? Just the bulbs? Did you already have ballasts and everything else for the HIDs?

its just the bulbs...they arent real HIDs. Cant afford them, and they arent too high on my list of priorities. Next time I get the car out at night, Ill take a few pics of the bulbs I have.

It's weird how green mine look when next to Cassi's. Yet in pictures of just the Charger that doesn't show. Like Jason said, the best coparison would just be a car which each color lined up next to eachother. I think for the next 2gn meet eveyrone needs a different color so we can compare.

Just bringing this thread back from the dead since I'm starting to put together a projector project for my car... I've been learning over at HIDplanet.com and getting some ideas and finally found a picture for a demonstration chart of kelvin/color...

Seriously 12K bright purple is retarded.. the actual light output is horrible.. its just all purple.

I got 5K hids in my wife's Dakota.. they look great.. a bright white....

I have 3000k fogs, and 4300k headlights, but they are projectors, so the color changes when you are looking straight at them, but from inside the car, fucking tits!

Did you do your own retros, lambo?

I found a how-to on doing projectors that haknslash wrote on neons.org, but all of the pictures are missing to go with it.

I PM'd him, but haven't heard back from him, yet. The project's going to take a while since I don't have a lot of money laying around, so I'm just going to start buying parts here and there and slowly work on it. I'd like to set a deadline of next year's 2GN meet.

I have a lot to learn.

I didn't do mine, but I've done another set for one of my buddies' Neon, and it was pretty easy, but I think that's because I have had my own apart like 10 times, so, I have it down pretty good now, if you get the stuff, I can put a set together for you for a C-note.
