Not going to polish in between claybar and wax?

Try the meguiars 3 step deep crystal system, I heard it works pretty good if you take your time.

Any claybar will work. Blue Magic, Mothers, etc. Those 3-step systems are nice, but plan on spending about 12 hrs+. Claybar, and a nice wax or cleaner wax will do you fine.

Try a local automotive store, they may have it. If not you could always order of the internet.

That's all you really need. The one bar will do my car about 3 times as long as I don't let the bar get soaked in the quick detail. If it does get soaked and starts falling apart on you the bar is just about garbage.

When I bought mine, I was just expecting a lot more. Its a big box, but I guess that was all just the spray detail.

^^ Yeah -- all the $$ goes towards the fancy packaging the lube spray. If only one could buy just the bars over-the-counter. I know a lot of online places carries just the bars, but it's expensive with shipping, etc.

You spray paint them or something? I recently painted my drums and I didn't tape off anything. What happened?

Whats the point of a clay bar? What does it do. I never used one before, I wash my car, wax, then buff it out.....

IT gets all the industrial fall out, overspray , anything that regular waxing does not get off of the car. THe car feels amazing after you clay bar it, even smoother than after you wax it.

I just recently did mine and I love how it brought out the white more. I had a light yellow color b4 and then after using the mothers clay back from Advance auto, my car was white again.

I took the drums off and sprayed them in the grass. The wind must have carried some of it onto my car bc i had lime green specks everywhere. Then when i painted the front brakes i had some on the fender...dont ask, i didnt do it, my friend Pete took care of the spraying

I think walmart has a Duplicolor system that is brush on paint. I did mine a year ago and it still looks pretty good to this day. It was like 17 all together for hte kit. Red, Blue, Yellow, Black. I'm going to pick up another set of callipers to go with my new Volk CE28 when they get here. Going to get them powdercoated rally blue, since Blue and gold look good together.

I had over spray from my car too (nieghbor spray painted something white and it got all over the front of my car). I used mothers clay bar and it got all of it off pretty easily. +1 from clay bars if you really need them.

You don't need to do it very often, maybe like 4 times a year....If that (I dunno). And the kit is a more than one time use thing. It just takes A LOT of time and effort to get it right, but it is worth it.

Also keep in mind that a claybar is kind of like wet sanding with 3000grit paper, make sure you use lots of lube or soapy water and dont sit in one spot for to long while using it. Once you finished claybaring, wash the car, then get a polish done, wash the car, then finally wax it...

It really depends on how dirty the bar gets. If you've never done it the bar will probably only do it 1-2 times, after that it I wouldn't risk using it again just for the pure fact that it might scratch your clearcoat due to the dirt in it. However if you wash it often and keep a good layer of wax on, you won't have to claybar a lot since there wouldn't be as much of a dirt build up.
