Mods are working OT to beat the bots!

I just wanted to point out that, since the mods are really trying hard to ban spambots and delete their posts, club members don't see the majority of the spam posts. The few that you do see don't compare to the quantity of junk that you don't see.

Even using the "Unread Posts" tab, for the mods and admin, it can take a bit of weeding through deleted spam posts to see actual neon related stuff.

To us, since deleted posts have a green recycled emblem, it is like looking at the ocean with a serious algae bloom going on.

I sent Jason a text message last week suggesting that we could manually activate new users. The 3 of us are on here nearly every day and it would be less work than weeding through once the damage is done. Jason's in school right now, so I don't know what kind of time he has to spend on any of this. He did reply to me, saying that he "had an idea".

It seems since the forum software update the spam has gotten worse? idk......
It sucks to see the site having little activity anymore.....
I wonder if it's possible to start linking FaceBook posts to redirect to 2GN's site for answers or comments Vs everything being posted on FB....
For example:
"FB NEWBIE" Hi, I'm new to the 2GN Facebook page, can anyone help me as to why I smell antifreeze coming from my engine compartment
a reply redirects the user to the 2GN.ORG site under "General Questions"
"2GN Member" have you checked...blah blah
The response would actually be on the 2GN site Vs Facebook.....This way if the user wants to reply to the question or comments, they would actually be replying to a 2GN.org post Vs a facebook post....I understand security issues that the FB user may have to create an account in order to get a reply, but what site doesn't do that anymore.....This would add another user to 2GN and they may start browsing the forum for answers to other questions as well.
Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to state here....lol

Damn, forum barely back up for whatever reason it was down, and already had to Ban and delete!

Someone tell the Russians this site has nothing to do with the elections already!

Interesting how the number of spambots has gone down dramatically since the election is over. Coincidence?
