Howdy yall! I just purchased a 2001 Neon ACR last week. 3 weeks of intense searching and studying definitely paid off...
The Car: It's a 01 ACR. The only mods are a Mopar performance chip (8hp) and "loosened" fuel tips (4hp). Other than that it's perfectly stock. It has 102k miles on it but sounds almost brand new.
*If anyone knows of some good sights/posts on the ACR let me know, it's a hard car to research...
Me: I'm a student in Louisville, KY. I'm originally from TX. I'm married, work for AT&T wireless, and am a big Neon enthusiast! [/u]

Welcome
Please explain more. I have never heard about a Mopar “chip” (besides special SCCA PCM's that are on VERY FEW neon's) or "loosened fuel tips".2001 ACR wrote: The Car: It's a 01 ACR. The only mods are a Mopar performance chip (8hp) and "loosened" fuel tips (4hp).

o3blackrt, a Mopar performance chip is a $400 PCM (ECU) replacement that generates more aggressive engine timing and increases the stock rev limit. The fuel tips/nozzles were "loosened" so that the fuel comes out more as a mist than a stream, if that makes sense. Maybe I'm just using the wrong lingo as I'm new to the forum...

102k miles huh?
I'd get the timing belt and water pump done and flush all your fluids.
Replace fuel filter.
Check your CV joints.
Might want to consider cat replacement as well.
May not need any of that other stuff but timing belt if nothing else.
Sounds bad-ass, welcome.

Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you're going when you hit the wall, and torque is how far you drag the wall with you.
Question, how do I post pictures on 2gn.org? I have some pictures on photobucket of my car, but where do I go from here?
In response to Overdrive418-
Timing belt is still in perfect condition and the fluids have been flushed.
CV joints are great.
- Where is the fuel filter on the ACR? It's not in the tank is it?
- How would I go about checking to see if my cat needs to be replaced?

Nice, I love it - oh, and he told me it came with no stereo and AC, so I assume he has the rare 1 of 11 silver ACR's with no option.

That's correct, it came with no a/c or stereo (infiniti speakers and a cd player were added later). Where do you go to find out how many ACR's in my trim were made? Because that's really awesome if my car is 1 of 11kc2002acr wrote:Nice, I love it - oh, and he told me it came with no stereo and AC, so I assume he has the rare 1 of 11 silver ACR's with no option.![]()
