And I have a 2000 Plymouth Neon

I just got it about a week ago and I am really craving doin' some things to it..

Whats the first thing you guys did to your Neons?

Hm, I havn't really givin' that much thought... I think I would want to clean up the exterior a but before I tried that though. ha

And yea, I skate quite a bit actually, but working full time is a skateboarders assasin.

First thing I did was the Borla exhaust. That is as long as you don't count the stereo system.

Yea, for me the stereo automatically comes first...its almost a necessity for me.

So, out of curiousity, I was checking out the Borla site (which I am just guessing it could be where you ordered yours from), and It doesnt offer for the Plymouth Neon LX, which you have...what did you choose? Are the highline and LX perfectly interchangable for something like that?

I am not stealing your exhaust choice, I am just wondering since I havn't had this neon for very long..

I actually bought mine from CarDomain.com two years ago. They don't sell anymore I think. The Part# 14862. Look for it under Dodge ES. Most everything I've ever purchased, I've had to say it's a Dodge. Oh well. this is picture of what I got. I hope this helps.

Welcome to the site. Look around and you will find a ton of good information. The center console is used as an armrest. Technically it isn't an armest to my knowledge.

Like the name. I know what you mean about working. I skateboarded quite a bit. But once I got my first main job when I turned 16 I didn't do it as often as I liked...

Oh, I was imagining van style armrests when it was mentioned. That makes more sense then.

But this site does have a lot of good info...which has already been some good help.

9 years. Don't do it NEARLY as much I used to, but I try to hit the park up once a month or so.

Hm, I looked into lowering it earlier today, and you really can get it lowered very much can you? At least, thats what I was told by a friend who works at a local mechanic shop..

Sure, you can lower it basically as much as you want. Some springs are between a 1 to 1.5 inch drop, some even up to 2.5 inches. With coilovers you can basically drop it as much as you want.

Unless your talking about the price. Shops usually charge you an arm and a leg to install new springs. DIY FTW

can I just pinch the coils? Or would that be even worse for the suspension?

dont do it. If you want to do it cheap. Just get some 1st Gen ACR or R/T springs. It should bring your car down a bit.

This is definitely going to be my first thing done to the neon...mainly because I bought the car with really dinged up bumpers that I need to get replaced anyways.

But what do you guys think? I dont really see many cars with kits on here..

If your going to get one, you atleast gotta get air ride. Most of the users on here with body kits have air ride. Or did.

The Kaminari kit is hot though.

As for your question. I skate "new school" I guess, since well I wasn't skating in the 80's. Which is considered "old school"

Welcome! Like the others have said, look around for some info/ideas to see what you may want to do to your car. Some things are just a bad idea even though they look nice. Search, ask questions and plan well. You'll be happier

Oh, and I hear you about skating. I haven't skated regularly since '88. I still have my Powell Peralta Per Welinder street style board though

And air ride? I am roughly familiar with those...only to the point of being able to point out different parts. How difficult would it be to get that into a Neon?

Personally I dont like bodykits on DD's because they look to agressive and are made of fiberglass(most of the time) which will break easily.. While they may make your car stand out.. you might always want your car to stand out...

Im a little confused on your linking air ride suspension and showing off different parts...
But in any case air ride is not the easy way or cheapest way to lower your neon but it gets the job done

And Im actually surprised to see Thomas at the top of your list.. I didnt even think he was a big deal to younger guys anymore

I ment that I could show the different parts of the setup of air ride...which most people can. I was pretty much just saying that I don't know too much about it.

As for Thomas...He is one of the big skaters that do skateboarding different. You always see the same things now adays, and he seems to bring variety to the game.
