All non-bux 01's should have "4" as the sixth digit anyways.
The 6th digit is the price class of the car. It breaks down like this...
1=Economy
2=Low
3=Medium
4=Highline (SE)
5=Premium (ES)
6=Special/Sport (ACR)
7=Performance/Image (R/T & SRT)
All Chryslers for the most part use this type of price level break-down.

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

That chart isn't bad, but the listing isn't acurate. The chart for 2002 is correct, but it applies to 01 as well.
1 - S [USA]
2 - Base [USA]
4 - SE/LE [USA/Canada]
5 - ES/SXT/LX [USA/Canada]
6 - ACR [USA]
7 - R/T [USA/Canada]
M - Manual [BUX]
A - Automatic [BUX]
1 - S [USA]
2 - Base [USA]
4 - SE/LE [USA/Canada]
5 - ES/SXT/LX [USA/Canada]
6 - ACR [USA]
7 - R/T [USA/Canada]
M - Manual [BUX]
A - Automatic [BUX]

*Sigh*
'01 ACR... 6th digit "4"!
'01 R/T... 6th digit "4"!
Hmmm, odd. I just looked at the 2001 parts PGI (parts general information) page, and it does only list "2" and "4"
That strikes me as very strange since Chrysler has been using this system since the 60's (back then it was in the 2 digit, and was a letter). So then, using Chrysler's logic for 2001, a Base, SE, ES, R/T, and ACR were all highlines
But I stand corrected either way. It just doesn't make sense to me.

yea, actually. opinions are welcome too! i recently bought black srt-4 wheels that i plan on throwing on the car for spring when i get nice new summer tires. i want to put a red pinstripe around them and paint my calipers red. also to stick with the whole black-red theme someone suggested to get little red dodge symbols to use as 'centercaps' on the wheels and even put one on the front of the car. id also be painting some things in the engine bay red: intake, strut bars, caps, whatever else. thoughts?TheRandom1 wrote:I dunno if anyone asked yet... but any plans for it?

It would be, but you'd still have the same wheel style that a ton of others have. It's a good idea to paint them and make them look different, but personally, I would go with a different style of wheel.
*steps off of soapbox*
As far as other mods, I would go for a set of smoked sidemarkets, modern projectors, and perhaps some different taillights...
