Enjoy your stay!

Welcome to 2GN.
Question though (and please forgive my ignorance).... are these "Shifties" thingy's like a sock for the shifter? If so what would the purpose of them be? Just curious. Thanks.

by TheRandom1
Yes they are, they go over the shifter to keep it from freezing/burning your hand in the weather.

Ah, you must be Crystal's buddy. Happy to see you're enjoying you shifty.
Yeah, I basically created them to keep my hand from cooking on my Modern Performance aluminum shift ball. Then, after I posted pics, people seemed interested in buying them. I'm gonna and up selling them here at some point, once I've "earned" the ability to do so (after 100 days and 350 posts I beieve). In the meantime, if you really want one, a little searching on the web will land you somewhere that they're officially available.

Yup, I'm "that guy" lol. Guys, it is definitely worth looking up the shifty's, I've had mine for a couple weeks and I still get a good chuckle every time I get in my car, just looking at Sake (that's my shifty's name)
I hear in the weather they're good too!

I can't wait till I have the spare funds. I have already "constructed" him with the face, color, and eye options
Cause I have been burned by my shift knob already

It's probably just glare from the funky finish that they used. I keep thinking about just color matching them to the body and being done with it forever.

Welcome to 2gn!
Love the car - especially the black/red theme you have. And, I do like the red lines on the wheels - sorta breaks up the total blackness of the side view. You engine compartment is nice, too.
Question: your injector cover; please explain that, ie, how was it done, what products were used, etc.
As for your Shifties, they're pretty cool looking! I may have to pick a black and white one up for the SRT4
FYI to everyone else, wiggyx is on SRTF under the same screen name - he is a Gold Vendor there, with a flawless trader rating.

Thanks for the kind words, Maddog!
It's all just rattle can. The only thing not pictured is a can of primer that I used.
Clean
Primer
Red paint
Masking with painters tape
Then then silver, remove the mask and clear

Ah, excellent! I may have to do that to my spare cover.
Seems simple enough that even I should be able to handle it (me when it comes to painting--->

).

Prep and patience are all that you need to remember and it'll come out looking great.
Clean the cover thoroughly to remove any and all grease/debris, and remember, many thin coats versus a couple of thick heavy coats of paint will give you the best results.
Good luck!

Damn, that car is beautiful..... I love the wheels!
Only thing I would've done differently, is smoked bumper lenses. IMO they look awesome, I have them, and they'd look great on black!

^^^ I'll probably end up doing something along those lines. I'm making a set of black retrofits and I'm gonna do the eBay projector fogs (who's halos will be painted black), so I need to keep in line with my blacked out to the max theme. I haven't decided if I want to just nightshade the clear ones that I have, or buy a set of pre-smoked ones.

Yeah, I just saw your other thread. NiteShades wouldn't be bad, but imo, I LOVE my ebay smoked lenses. I think they look great. And I can't see what yours look like. But if they're like mine with what looks like stamped chrome backings for reflectiveness, not the prism'ed lense (diamond clear vs clear I suppose) you could just smoke them, but I just like the look of mine. And they're cheap enough to not really have to worry about wasting the money of them If you decide you don't like them.
