My name is Mike. I was one of the co-founders of NeonsOnline and NeonExtreme. I have been out of the Neon scene since about 2005. I have had many first gen Neons and have done many head gasket and timing jobs on these. I have recently bought 2000 Plymouth with 155k for $600. It is in great shape. It had a seized water pump and broken timing belt. I have valves that are bent in the head. I spent a good part of the day tearing down the engine and installing new head and head gasket. I have already replaced the timing belt and water pump. Tomorrow afternoon I will be setting the timing and putting it back together. I hope all is well after this. I currently have about $150-200 in parts in the car. So I am about $800 into it. The photos I have are of the car untouched. It has been sitting in the driveway for about a month since I towed it home. Mine is the white one.

I have also bought my daughter an 02 Dodge. This car is in great condition. I spent quite a bit of time cleaning it and washing and waxing the car. Hers is the red one.

Thanks, Guys. I got out and got the Neon put back together today. Took it for a test drive. For some reason my alternator belt wants to come off. But this weekend I got the head torn off. New head gasket, head from a 96, valve cover gaskets, timing belt, water pump and got it running...lol. It has a whine to it while I am driving and it seems like it shifts a little slow. But the car has sat for about 6 months so I am going to see if it works its way out. So far I am in it for less than $200 and paid $600 for the car. Had to rent a tow dolly for $50 and spend about $30 in gas to go pick it up.

Here is a video of the first drive. Its on Facebook. If you guys wanna check it out and add me thats cool.
