new to the neon world

Hello all, my names Joe. I'm new to the neon world. I just got a 2001 Plymouth Neon, it's slowly being customized. I look forward to learning more about these cars and some helpful hints on modding. I owned a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT that was topped swapped, and some other go fast goodies.

I've searched for exhaust ideas, but can anyone point me to a good thread. Would like to get a better sound outta the 2.0.

Welcome! Are you trying to do go or show?

A little of both but mostly just show. Plans are to lower it, lip kit, retrofit headlights, rims and tires.. car already has altezza tailights which I'm lookin to replace soon. I've debadged the car and tinted the windows 20% all around. If I use the 1gn oem springs to lower the car, do I have to do anything else to the frame or mounts? Plan on gettin some Tokico HP struts to mate with the springs

Welcome to 2gn... for exhaust there are plenty of ways to go about it..... just search a bit through the progress logs or some other sections to see waht ppl here have

and the 1gn springs should just pop on in place of the old springs no modifications needed..

I wouldn't suggest using 1gn springs to lower... It'll get you pretty low but the springs are so soft you bottom out on everything. I ran 1gn ACR springs for a month with Tokicos before I had to replace them with H&Rs because they were so bad.

what he said, but you can get mopar high rate or XX high rate 1gn springs that will work much better. you have to get them 2nd hand though

Agreed! Looks sooooo much nicer without door moldings. I'd remove mine but the paint is chipped a little underneath :(

Yeah the door moldings and the tailights are on me list to change. The altezzas were on there from previous owner.. thanks for the compliments though. Gonna be repainting the whole car prolly around tax season. Just bought a AEM cold air intake for it too :D
