Hello from Israel!
Hello from Israel!
Hello all!
I'm the proud owner of a 2001 Chrysler Neon LX in Israel. I bought the car a few weeks ago for the equivalent of $2600. It has about 114,000 miles on it.
Only 42 2nd gens were sold here, all in 2001. All automatics, all with leather and every option except sunroof and CD changer. I know of one in a junkyard, so only 41 left on the street! Odds are at least a few more have been junked from accidents or major problems over the past 12 years, but who knows!
The car turns heads to this day and people think it's much newer than 2001.
Parts are pretty rare and expensive here. Most require going to the main importer headquarters and central warehouse if you don't want to wait. A few examples:
PCV breather hose cost me $55. The PCV valve cost me $47. The Mopar oil filter cost me $16.50. A quart of Mopar ATF+4 costs $27.40.
Mopar air filter costs $54. A single wiper washer nozzle is $23.30. The list goes on
Fortunately there's eBay!
I've already gotten help here and what a great group of people! Looking forward to many years of enjoying the car!

True, but he did steer me towards being able to assemble a BUX retractable antenna though (with the help of several good-hearted 2GN'ers).
