Only need '03 up hubs/bearings. The bearings/hubs changed in '02 at some point. So later '02's may also work. (The bearings/hubs are wider.)

Dante just posted this recently in another thread. So Manny, you are good to go. :D

OD bro, i REALLY hate to tell you this man.....but he doesnt need new hubs to use SRT axles...

it's for a long time been a common misconception that the SRT and Neon axles wont fit the same hub.......

but i tell you, here, and now, they will, without ANY doubt fit in the exact same hub.

First off, there's ONLY ONE part number listed for 03/04/05 neon and SRT front hubs... two different bearings, yes, but the hubs are identicle...

Next... If they didnt mix, then please explain to me why I have "SRT" front hubs and my original factory installed axles (non srt) and have zero issues what so ever...

so please, lets all understand this together... front AND rear hubs are interchangable between SRT and nonSRT.

Here's the deal...

All 2nd gen Neons (incl SRTs) have the same hub spline size and count.

2000-mid 2002 Neons have 33mm wide bearings. Mid 2002-2005 Neons and SRTs have 39mm wide bearings. The knuckle, hub and bearings are different beacause of the width difference.

The SRT axle shaft will fit on either hub size.

There is NO difference in the rear hub and bearing in any year/model (2000-2005)

All better? :D

I said you may need them but wasn't sure. Hence find out for sure because I don't know.

OD said you DIDN'T need them, because you have an 03+...
I'm pretty sure he was just saying you need 03+ hubs, not 03+ srt hubs, because that would be retarded to say it like that because they only made 03+ srt's...

true.

guess i got confused from trying to understand what he was trying to say.. idk. so if i wanted to install these hubs then they should work fine correct..? i see all 03 any model neon has same part numbers on bearings and hubs.. reason for using them and not returning them well cause my car has 140k miles and why not just change em out as idk if they have ever been changed before.

My thinking was if the hubs are wider, the spline length may also be longer, so they might not have let the axle nut tighten correctly if used with the narrower bearing/hub. But I guess the splines are short enough to use with either. I had no doubt they would slide into either hub.

maybe this was asked in the 15 or so previous pages but I just want to be sure.... Can I use a stock hood on my SRT swap? or do I need the srt hood as well. My thinking is that I can just use the stock hood but will need to cut out some bracing.

I noticed earlier it was mentioned that the 2000 neon's didn't come with SKIM but mine did? I'm having an issue with my swap but I don't want to garbage up this thread. Thanks

Engine and Tranny (duh)
Complete Engine Wiring Harness
Complete Engine Bay Wiring Harness
Power Steering Pump, lines, and cooler
Clutch master and slave cylinder
Clutch/Brake Pedal assembly
Intercooler Piping
Intercooler
Radiator Hoses
Lower Motor Mounts (the hole in the lower mount is larger for larger bolts)
SRT PCM (wont' need the bracket if swapping into an 03+)
Axles (and half shaft if it isn't on the engine)
Coolant Bottle
Fuel Line from tank to engine bay
Fuel Pump
Flex Fuel line from solid fuel line to fuel rail
Short evap hose that comes from the purge valve
All vacuum lines and the 3 selonids
o2 Sensors
Turbo Housing + o2 Housing
Lower Control Arms (they're stronger yet the same in shape)
If you plan on using the front brake setup you'll need the following

SRT Power steering rack (it's shorter)
Knuckles
Flexiable Brake Lines
Calipers
Rotors

If you are replying to the above post, you're a few years late...

Transmission and axles are not necessary. Steering rack, not necessary, and the standard rack has a better ratio.

LCA's are not stronger. There is only a reinforcement for the sway bar, that develops rust between it and the LCA body, eventually making it weaker.

To just swap the engine, you only really need the engine, wiring and PCM/SKIM/Key if you are not using stand alone engine management. A manual transaxle is preferred, but an ATX from a GT Cruiser can be used, it just takes more wiring. A built 31th can also be used, but good luck sourcing parts.

All the SRT knuckles/brakes/steering gear are going to get you is a shitty turning radius, and heavy components. The T850 is going to get you a transaxle with potential issues, and hard to find parts to repair it.
