Passenger side engine mount

Doing a SRT-4 Motor swap into your Neon, maybe even a 2.4... have questions about it, what you'll need or what issues you'll run into? Answers can be found in here.

Passenger side engine mount

Post by latief » Tue Nov 07, 2006 9:36 am

Swap people, did you have trouble with passenger side engine mount (load bearing mount)? my question is if this mount is the same on the SRT and the regular neon? i'm having trouble with the through bolt being of lesser dimater the the hole in the mount itself, therefor rattling inside the mount...anyone know anything about this? i don't have a swap, but i have a mount off an SRT 4 in my neon........

im still a little confused when you say the load bearing mount...you got the upper torque strut, engine mount(in the middle), then the lower torque mount....

oh ok yeh you'd most likely need the srt bolt and it should be fine. that was one of the mounts i didnt swap out when i did my swap, but the regular neon mount and bolt worked fine with the srt motor. i never been able to compare the engine mounts; and ive never seen what the srt bolt looks like, but id imagine the threading part of it should be the same as the regular neon one...mainly for the fact that the regular neon bolt went in fine and tightened nicely to the side of the srt motor...

Only one of them is load bearing. The middle one handles the load, the upper and lowers just help keep the engine from rocking back and forth.
You can put a pig in a dog suit but you can't make it bark ... kinda like buying a 2gn and swapping in a SRT motor. (-2 for originality)
