Any 2.4s using sxt or pt gt trans?

going to be swapping the wifes car but she doesnt want standard so keeping it auto anybody have an auto 2.4 setup using the sohc tranny or the pt gt tranny? need some input as far as tunning and drivability

If you're swapping in the 2.4, just use the PT trans and ECU. It'll essentially be an auto PT GT and it's "less" of a headache. Not super fun I'm sure, but less wiring / hacking to use the OE harness and ECU for it.

Well that depends on the year of said Wife's car.

If it is a 2000/2001, then just keep the ATX that's in it.

For that matter, you can use the existing stock PCM, and just use the correct injectors.

The donor 2.4 may already have the right injectors.

If you have a 2000 M.Y. neon, you would only need to go with a 2001 newer FPR.

I used the same injectors that came with the '98 2.4, only I bought new ones, instead of using the "gummed up from sitting" ones.

If you have a 2001 newer neon, you may need larger injectors... 4.0 Jeep injectors may do the trick.

If the 2.4 is 2003 newer, and the car is 2002 older, you are going to have to swap the wire harnesses and engine/trans controller regardless.

If you are using the GT 2.4, you will want to use the GT ATX (41te), and the engine PCM, and as much of the wire harness as you can swap.

There are no turbo ATX neons from the factory, and the SXT PCM is not going to have a firm enough shift program to make your 40te live. You will want the PT/GT PCM, and any needed wire changes. A stage 1 upgrade for the ATX is also recommended.

Finding a dealer that will program it in once you are done might be a different matter.

If you have money to spend, and want a steeper learning curve, Mega Squirt does make a Mega Shift for ATX's.

i picked up a spare srt4 2.4 i have alot of stock parts from my srt that i will be using and i emailed kevin sykes to see if theres something he can do for putting the auto on the 2.4 if not ill swap out the tranny for the pt one

02-03 sxt uses the same tranny as the pt gt 41te

No, only the 2002, and 2001 export neons used the 41te. 2003 to 2005 neons use the 40te.

hmm im getting conflicting info says 01-02 came with the 31th and 03-05 41te and thats from the dodge forums Wikipedia says 02-03 only came with the 41te and 04-05 had the 40te going to have to check the tranny tomorrow
