If you are scrapping the other car, why reinstall? I would keep/sell the spare K frame. The only difference is a nutsert installed into the SRT crossmember. The crossmember also fits all years. Tho different part #s are listed for various MY's, they all fit.

Anyone know the order in which the ABS hooks up? We need to know which way the lines mount up to the ABS block. I believe there are 4 lines that need to be connected.

There should be 6 holes total. This is what I can tell in the parts catolog. Looking at the block where the lines go in...
The top left hole (would be the rear most one) goes to the M/C rear port, and the upper right (front) hole goes to the M/C front port.
The 4 holes along the bottom, starting with the left (rear) hole and going towards the right (front)...
Right Front
Left Rear
Right Rear
Left Front
Hope that makes sense.

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
I pretty much love you
Hahahah
Thank you!

Well, I had to swap over all my brake lines from the SRT to the 02 SXT. I don't know who said they would bolt right up, but as far as MY car...there was no way.

I didn't know it was an 02. that does make things different and more challenging than the straight swap to an 03+ which is what I thought you were runnin.

Just read this.
It's all good. Now we have an idea of where they go. I was assuming he was bending his own lines, because I imagine the factory lines will only go on one way...

Yeah, 03 SRT into 02 SXT.hansken_yo wrote:I didn't know it was an 02. that does make things different and more challenging than the straight swap to an 03+ which is what I thought you were runnin.
I wonder what other little snags i'm going to run into. It should be noted that the brake lines are needed coming from a non-abs car.

So just double checking, if I get all 5 harnesses from an 03+ everything should go together properly? Just like using all SRT harnesses?2003 to 2005 - Harness 1, 2 - Dash harness does not need to be swapped and no pins have to be moved. The only thing major thing missing in the dash harness is the electrical connector for the boost gauge backlight (see above). In 2003 they changed the electrical system around and all Neons came with the NVLD so the body harness does not need to be swapped either nor does the trunk lid harness. The only real major reason as to wanting to swap Harness 3, 4, and 5 would be if the Neon you're swapping into did not have power options and you would like to add them but if you are wanting to do that you'd also have to swap out things like the door harnesses...
Does anyone know how to get the e-brake cable to extend a little longer? I forgot how I did it when I did the brake swap. But I bolt up the e-brake and obviously it's too short. I messed with it to try and get it longer but nopeeee

Did you bolt everything else into place before connecting it? IIRC if the lines were loose on the body you'll have that extra room you need.Adionik wrote:Does anyone know how to get the e-brake cable to extend a little longer? You have to pull up on the single output cable of the e-brake with your fingers and slide a punch or something thin and strong through the hole in the e-brake mechanism. This allows slack on the individual cables so you can take them off. I used a small punch.
I took this pic from the disc brake swap how-to in the chassis section

I'm confused because the ebrake looks de-pressed there...but it says to pull it up.sidepipe87 wrote:You have to pull up on the single output cable of the e-brake with your fingers and slide a punch or something thin and strong through the hole in the e-brake mechanism. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the pic, but I'm pretty sure when I did it, it works. You have to pull on that little equalizer piece with the two holes in it for the cables to lock into and I think it'll make that piece of metal that is sticking up in front of the punch move down, allowing you to stick the punch through to give you the room to attach the cables.
here is the thread that has all the pics and info

Sorry if I missed this, but got some questions. First I have an 02 with srt swap. I was told the motor/tranny came from an 03. Is there anyway for me to find this out forsure? Also can I use any year srt pcm and just have it reflashed if its used? I don't know the vin# the current pcm is programmed to. Is that something the dealer can find out?
I see no mention of needing the dash harness if you're swapping into an 02, but my AC/blower are not working at all.
Sunroof, windows and locks work beautifully.
But my driver side blinker still won't come on and my rear reverse lights are stuck on too. Haven't seen any of these symptoms on this forum

reverse light switch is on the MTX somewhere, check to see if it's ok.

been reading over this post for 3 months now and now in the middle of the swap into a 2000
does any one have pics of the fire wall of a srt -4. i take it there the same as a 01 + fire wall to mount the master cylinder for the clutch.
i work at a wrecking yard so im going to cut the portion out that i need from another neon or use it as a template at least.
also for the brakes. will i need the portioning valve or anything since i swapping over from drums to disc in the rear.
