NS1 or NS3 - Here are the definitions

NS1 – CANCELLED PART
NS2 – DO NOT SERVICE
NS3 – DISCONTINUED FOR SERVICE
NS4 – SERVICE IN ASSEMBLY
NS5 – SERVICE COMPONENT PARTS
NS6 – SERVICE IN PACKAGE
NS7 – CANCELLED NEVER USED IN PRODUCTION
NS8 – MAKE TRIM
NS9 – SERVICE DEALER PAINT TO COLOR

NS1 - THE PART IS CANCELLED AND WILL NO LONGER BE PURCHASED BUT WILL CONTINUE TO BE SOLD UNTIL STOCK IS EXHAUSTED. (NS1 ONLY APPLIES TO PARTS THAT ARE OUT OF RETENTION)

NS2 - THE PART WILL NOT OR CANNOT BE SERVICED IN THE FIELD. (BY THE DEALER)
NS3 - THE PART WILL NO LONGER BE PURCHASED BUT WILL CONTINUE TO BE SOLD UNTIL STOCK IS EXHAUSTED. (NS3 ONLY APPLIES TO PARTS THAT ARE STILL WITHIN RETENTION)

NS4 - THE PART IS ONLY FOUND WITHIN OR AS PART OF A COMPLETE
ASSEMBL Y AND CANNOT BE SERVICED AS A INDEPENDENT PART.

NS5 - THE PART IS AN ASSEMBLY AND THE DEALER CAN REMOVE THE
DEFECTIVE PART AND REPAIR THE ASSEMBLY.

NS6 - THE PART IS ONLY SERVICED IN A PACKAGE.

NS7 - THE PART WAS RELEASED FOR PRODUCTION BUT NEVER USED IN
PRODUCTION.

NS8 - THE PART IS A SOFT TRIM PART THAT IS ONLY SERVICED WHILE IN PRODUCTION. WHEN IT GOES PAST MODEL THE PART WILL BE MADE BY THE TRIM SHOP AS ORDERS ARE RECEIVED.

NS9 - THE PART IS SERVICED IN A NEUTRAL COLOR. WHEN THE DEALER
RECEIVES THE PART HE W LL PAINT THE PART TO THE DESIRED COLOR.
