I finally got the pistol grip shifter in!!!!
I purchased an SRT shifter off of ebay for $18, got booger bushings, JonnyMopar bushings and the hurst pistol grip handle. I had to machine an adapter to be able to use the threaded handle on the SRT shifter.
Here are some pictures of the parts I used:
SRT Shifter
JonnyMopar Bushings
Boogers
Hurst Pistol Grip Handle
the adapter
and pics of the install

I don't think this was mentioned yet, but I cut about 3" off of the shifter so that it wouldn't be super tall.

cost a lot less too.
The Boogers, JonnyMopars, Pistol Grip Handle, and the SRT Shifter cost ~$90.
I think I got pretty lucky with the shifter, I only paid $18 shipped to the door from ebay. The handle was the expensive part, it was $35 from Advance Auto.
It is surprisingly comfortable. I was a little worried about comfort when not gripping on to the handle. But the handle is really smooth around the corners.

Thanks for the complements
The adapter was handmade by me. The only thing close to it is the little adapter that Modern includes when you buy the SRT style shifter ball, but theirs does not have the boot retaining feature.
Mine is one of a kind.

i could make more but there are a few problems...
1. i used roll pins to hold the adapter to the shifter, in order to produce them for sale i would use set screws. i dont know how the set screws would hold up. you could use lock-tite on them and it would probably help. the most set screws i could put in would be 6, 12 if i did upper and lower set screws. if someone wanted me to use roll pins i would need that person to send me their shifter and non-SRT boot. I personally dont think it would look good with a non-SRT boot as all of the material under the handle is covered by the boot and I don't believe the SRT boot would be able to cover that material.
2. the material for this part is expensive, its 7075 aluminium. i would be able to make a couple more because i was able to score a foot of 7075 for free from work. to buy a foot of the material from mcmaster-carr is ~$25, which equals ~$6.25 per piece for just the material. if i could get a a minimum of 13 orders i could get a longer piece and that would bring the material cost down to ~$4 per piece. i went with the bad ass of aluminums as far as strength goes, there is only one aluminum that is harder and has a higher yield strength and that stuff is really expensive. i dont know if i could use a lower grade aluminum like 6061 but i wouldnt want to find out on a part that i sold to someone. 6061 is really cheap.
3. it takes a long time to make one of these. i might make one just for the sheer fact of making one to see how long it takes. after i do that i might decide it would be ok to make these. if i can make them in under an hour then that would be ok. it took me 3 - 4 hours to make this one since it was the first of its kind.
4. It hasnt been test yet. i dont know how long it will last. if this aluminium doesnt work then i would have to switch to steel. i would rather my car be the test mule.
5. You will have to cut your shifter regardless of what shift knob you use. or else it will look kind of goofy with the boot pulled all the way up, imo.
and now I pose a question to you... How much would you be willing to pay for such a piece?
It would be threaded most any size you want, but I would have to check with my dad to make sure he has the correct hardware to cut that thread.
I WILL CONSIDER IT IF THERE IS A STRONG INTEREST FOR IT.
