so could i do the same thing with my 01 r/t or would i have to get an oil filter adapter, because the pressure in the head is a little more important than the pressure in the pan, or at least to me it doesLilSparkPlug wrote: Not sure if your engine has the little plug on the side of the block, but the SRT motor does, so I removed the plug and its a perfect 1/8NPT thread for the sending unit. My reasoning for not getting the adapter plate is its more important to me to know if I'm losing pressure in the head, than losing pressure in the pan. Not to mention on the SRTs its very difficult for you to get the adapter plate in with the huge ass oil filter. Just makes for one big pain in the ass.

On the driver's side of my block there was a little tiny ass square head plug. I pulled that out and put it there. Some people drill holes and tap them, but this one was already there for the taking.
I understand that we all have different blocks between the SRT and the neon, but this is the plug I'm speaking of:

Driver's side right under the intake. A bit of teflon tape and you're golden.

And if you have a 2003 R/T...krc21 wrote:your 01 rt has the same hole on the back of the block. you have to take your battery out to get to it. just take your stock oil press out and replace it with your gauge sender.. you will be good to go.. since you have an 01 you can just let your stock sender hang.. you wont throw any codes..
sooo what exactly does that plug block up?LilSparkPlug wrote:On the driver's side of my block there was a little tiny ass square head plug. I pulled that out and put it there. Some people drill holes and tap them, but this one was already there for the taking.

It plugs the end of the oil galley that likely feeds the cam journals. That is the head BTW, not the block. Just to avoid confusion. The SOHC head does not have that feature. But if you knew where to drill, if it is even feasible, you could tap into the oil feed in a SOHC head. But remember oil pressure in the head will be lower than a reading at the filter. It is near the end of a path of pressure leaks. (Crank bearings, etc.) Just so you aren't alarmed when you see a lower reading than you might expect.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

Well I was gonna post this up later but Ill put the word out. I have 6 white faced seven color gauges I will be selling on here soon. Voltage, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure(X2) Trans Temp and Fuel Pressure. Only like 6 months old. The reason Im getting rid of them is because the shades of blue dont match my dash overlays. Let me know whos interested and Il will try to get this up in the for sale section. AS for the oil filter adapter I have used mine for about six months and 2 oil changes with no problem. They do sell the o rings if it starts to leak. BUT beware if your car is lowered. With the sandwich adapter and my purolator oil filter is is about an 1/8 of an inch below the oil pan. (So no more using the k and n with the large nut for example) Hope this helps Awesome company
