Or would I just look like a jerk? If so I'd get them you know, for the inside underneath the dash.

I say go for it, I have a blue light bar under both sides of the dash above peoples feet, and one under each front seat shining into the back. Make sure you mount them so they are hidden and hide all the wiring.

Go with cathodes from Oznium.com. Cheaper, brighter, and they last longer. :)

check your local laws!

Where I am it is illegal to have an interior light that is visable from outside the vehicle while in motion (underbody's are also illegal). This includes the dome light.... yeah... they're that serious out here...

I would go with StreetGlow LED strips (LINK). That's what I have under my dash and they are bright and work really well. Plus their easier to hide than a tube cause their a flat strip.

I like having it dark on the inside of my car...I think the lights would get extremely annoying

They come with a transformer, all you need is a power and a ground. And if you'd like, a switch to wire them to.

I usually have some sort of light under the dash, the most recent being a lit fusebox for the interior gadgets. I do it for safety reasons because I always seem to drop shit down by my feet, so the last thing I want is for something to stick under the brake pedal or for me to fumble about looking for it in the dark!

Wouldn't this actually be in Interior?

Neonlights will break very fast when someone touches them.
