SXT Brackets + Viper Inspired Seats = No Go.

Post by 2005.Neon.SXT » Sun Mar 22, 2009 1:20 pm

Alright, I want to say that my brackets do NOT match up to bolt into the Viper seats. I know everyone is saying that they are all universal, from '95 and up, but apparently the '05 is different or something because it doesn't match up at all.

First, the SXT seats are a bit wider, so the bracket itself would need to be pushed inward some to bolt into the Viper seats.

Second, none of the holes match up to bolt in.

Image

If I were to match those holes up, the ones at the front of the bracket where the seat lever is don't match up to the bottom of the Viper seats.

I'm kinda curious as to who exactly has done this (used their non-Viper seat brackets to hold the Viper seats) and how the fuck did they manage to get it to fit lol.

Pictures would help to, for those kind enough to take pics for me.. I wouldn't mind snagging these seats from my buddy, but my brackets do not in any way, shape, or form fit onto the Viper seats.

Thanks

Well, over 10 views and I guess no one has done this seat bracket swap... or was everyone just going off assumption that it should work?

huh? The viper seats are my buddy's. He bought aftermarket ones and had to use his SRT brackets, leaving just the seat. If I can get some SRT brackets for the Viper seats, I can have 'em.. otherwise there isn't anything I can do with them.

Yeah as far as I understand the Vipers have always needed a different bracket than the regular seats.

I didn't know this was a common, or even attempted swap..(?)

probably why no one responded..

it's nice to have someone to just "give' you seats from an over $50,000 car... but I don't think many people have friends like that... or even try to purchase seats from a car that expensive...

Lol I think you misunderstood something. It's the Viper Inspired Seats from the SRT-4. My buddy got some aftermarket yellow ones (he drives an '03 Solar Yellow SRT-4) and had to use his stock brackets for these aftermarket seats. So that left him with just the Viper Inspired seats, no brackets. The thing I was wondering was if you could use SXT seat brackets to mount onto these Viper Inspired seats (from an SRT-4), but you can't. So now I'm on the lookout for some SRT-4 seat brackets to buy from someone so I can snag these seats from my buddy.

As the title states: "Viper Inspired Seats".

You need the brackets from an SRT to make them work. Who told you otherwise? The SRT brackets themselves will bolt up to your frame; perhaps you misunderstood?

viewtopic.php?t=40164

If you scroll down to my first post, pitvipr (the author of the thread) said that it would work. Yes, two posts later blue demon02 says that it can't be done but that was the next day at night and I had already tried.

viewtopic.php?t=38463

Here, ragek23 is trying to convince me that any Neon bracket from any year Neon would work with the Viper Inspired Seats.

There was no misunderstanding on my part, but at least I learned something lol and now everyone should know that you need SRT-4 Viper Inspired seat brackets only to use those seats. Oh well. Still looking to buy those brackets, whoever has any.

It's all good lol. I just thought it was funny that you thought my buddy had a Viper and "gave" me his seats. I wish lol.

The seats and brackets fit yes. But you cannot mount a Viper seat on a non-SRT/Viper slider.
