SRT4 vs Regular Neon dash cluster

Post by marakka » Wed Jul 08, 2009 1:22 pm

We all know that the SRT4 cluster will swap into the regular neon without problem. I'm working with a fella to try to get a more affordable alternative to Speedhut overlays made. But I want to identify any problems that might exist between making a generic template that applies to the SRT4 and the regular Neon. Obviously the redline and the speedo are different. Is there anything I'm not thinking of as far as idiot lights that may be different?

The guy I'm talking to should be able to make overlays from a standard preprinted design to fully custom from about $50 going up depending on how customized you'd like them.

A quick pic of his work matching the SRT4 gauges to cobalt gauges:

From what I'm understanding its not a true overlay in that it sits over the stock one.... You remove the stock one and replace it with this? I'm not 100% sure on that yet.....

Yep you replace the stock ones with these so lighting shouldn't be an issue.

All idiot lights are the same, the clusters are different. So two different overlays would have to be made.

The clusters are different in what way C-Dizzle? I know that speedo and tacho numbers are different but thats an easy fix... just adjust the numbers to work with it.
