ok, i thought the r/t in the junk yard i found was a 02, but today i found out it is an 01... will this make any difference with my gauge cluster???

All cluster interchange for 00-02 , I think when they change to NGC they won't interchange. I know the 01 R/T cluster is white faced with tach, I looked at one for you today.

All 2GN clusters interchange, but there is a minor mod to the SRT ones to not have a light on all the time.

Some people don't think they are all interchangeable.

srtgtr34 wrote:And sadly as I found out today, the 04 cluster does not work right in my neon... I know its not the cluster because my 2nd cluster, which cam from an 03, did the same exact thing.

when you initially plug the cluster in they would work as they are supposed to, but when the car sits for at least 30 mins or later, none of the gauges work..

Well now I have a 2001 r/t cluster coming, which is probly another design I can add to this thread..

To all the peopl who say that all the clusters are interchangebale throught the years 00-05, I think your wrong... I believe the only years that are compatible are the 00-02 only and the 03-05 only.

Idk. Even though srtgtr's would not. A few people have SRT clusters in 00-02 and they work fine.

ummm..... i just noticed, they pulled the gauge cluster out of the rt..... but it does not have a 140mph speedo? was the gauge cluster changed in this car? or was it just the srts with a 140mph speedo?

So you are saying it's just a regular sxt or es cluster? Sure it's an R/T?

White faced canadain clusters go up to 160 mph, I'm looking at a spare one sitting in my room.

May someone just swapped the cluster in that R/T, if you are interest I got a 240 km/h or 160 mph cluster. You can have it for the cost of shipping

for what it's worth, I've never seen a black faced cluster that had a tach, does yours? I thought in '02 when they rolled out the SXT they started using white clusters and the higher trim cars got tachs. Am I wrong here?

No you aren't. But canada and Europe has black faced gauges with Tachs.

Ok I wasn't sure. I know the import ones that look fancy with chrome rings have km/h but i didn't know about the US spec black faced ones

Nope, All those clusters that didn't work in my car I sold. And they all work on other peoples cars.

The cluster boards went through a major change from 02 to 03.

Its still an unknown problem.

the only thing that doesn't switch over is the odometer. if you try and put your old odometer into the new cluster in doesn't work or at least didn't for me.

I believe that you can have the odometer mileage programmed "up" to your current mileage if it is lower. However, they will not roll-back a cluster is the mileage is higher than your current. You can't simply switch the mileage over like on some cars.

rofl. I'm just assuming since you have 4 wheel disc. I have 4 wheel discs but I snipped the wires for the ABS

And I'm pretty sure I've hacked most of my wires to hell too.. . . .. .
