I need to install the white bulbs again to see how it looks when lit, but here's a really crummy pic of it completed next to the OEM overlay.

This is a mod for the crazies only
First you need to remove the OEM overlay. Then sand off everythig from the backside. Start with 600 grit and work up to 2000. Then you need to polish it to a shine. The graphic is a vinyl I had cut from a recreation of the overlay that I built in Adobe illustrator about a year ago. As you can see, it's just a replica of the OEM overlay. This is why you must polish the overlay that is now clear. You're applying the vinyl from the backside, so it must be completely glossy for the vinyl to appear nice and black from the front. Next I used some red and blue tint film to add the color, then a layer of white mylar to back it using a spray adhesive to hold it together and complete the overlay sandwich. Then it's just a matter of using permanent two-sided tape to install it.
Piece of cake

Here it is with some backlighting. Nevermind the multi-colored knob inserts. They're just my extra set that I use to test fit inserts before I ship them.

It's just an unwarranted rick if you ask me. I know the sanding takes longer, but it's "safer"sxxxt wrote:Well I just did it to get rid if the green and it worked pretty good. Lol as soon as u put it on u wipe off. I didn't have ne problems with it. But ur probly right ppl will not use it right and mess up there overlay. Lol
And this is why. I know I've made my fair share of mistakes in the past. Now that I'm a tad older I tend to err on the side of caution.acr wrote:That happened to me on my first attempt I didn't realize it had spilled onto the other side and messed up my cluster. Luckly that was a spare cluster that I tried it on.
