whats with the gameboy?

It's his DTEC. Read the SRTForums, it's a pretty common tool.

I get asked that everywhere I go
The DTEC is a fuel and boost controller that uses the GBA as its interface. I imagine it saved Turbo XS on development costs since they didn't need to come up with, or source a proprietary display unit. Pretty ingenious method if you ask me.

That GBA thing is pretty sweet! I like the set up though, very nice on everything!

Your car is awesome man, I love it. You have great design sense with the things you do. Subtle mods that work great. I can see the industrial designer in you

Also, he only plays Pokemon Red Version, otherwise it'd throw the car's theme off.

Very nice work sir. I like that you carried the theme throughout yet didn't over-do it. Great idea with the full size spare too. Car looks tight.

Thanks. The spare was my wife's "idea"

She curbed a wheel over the summer while moving it. So she bought me a replacement and I patched the curbed one and use it for the spare.

Intercooler sprayer. I don't really use it, but I had the bottle sitting around and a friend sold me the hardware for almost nothing, so I made it into a show piece. It really just helps carry the graphic throughout.

awsome job man, with the red not overpowering everything else. very nice and clean. you know u should have brodie stitch ur steering wheel and shifter boot in a red stitching. i think that would look tight. also not over powering. the only thing im not a fan of is the thing on the shifter ball. a little too much for me there. but other then that very clean and nice choice on the wheels.

Ive talked to Brodie about those two things actually (like forever ago). It's something I've been meaning to do. Hell, I've got a 2nd steering wheel sitting right here for that very purpose. Maybe this winter I'll finally go ahead and do it.

Wiggz you know I love your interior

I had been wondering if the SXT black rings were transferrable into the SRT cluster. You have proven my initial thoughts correct.

Love the interior. Intreasted about the cluster lighting and the insterts (which i read in another post that you make) Was changing the cluster to all red hard? I wouldn't mind doing the same in a different color.

Thanks, as always! I ended up with a couple of Neon clusters for some reason (can't remember why) and I noticed the black rings so I thought I'd try it out.

It's not what I would call "hard", but it does take a bit of work to do it all. Here's my how to:

What color are you thnking?

No red turn signals??
I read your how to, and there is a way to make the red odometer visble during the day. If you sand the black tint off of the area and place cellophane over the odo display it is perfectly visble even with the sun glaring on it.
I found that the cellophane wasn't the best material to use so I used the vamp film. In addition the odo area should be masked off and retinted to give it a much cleaner look.

Yeah I had been thinking about it but didn't want to pick up an extra cluster just to do it (that can be pricey) so when I got the SXT I said to myself "Hmmmm....I wonder if...."
But then it wouldn't match my gauges since they all have silver trim rings.

I dunno, I was thinking of a dark blue, ( not the OEM Green/blue) more like the VW color. my problem right now is I have indiglo guages on the cluster now, and when I take it off it looks like crap, so i need to get my self another cluster to be as a back up...
thanks for the link. i hope to try this out soon.

To go "VW blue" I'd do a couple things (as I'm already trying something like this for someone). First, I'd go LED. The incandescent bulbs are too yellow to give you the type of light your looking for. Then, in addition to the white LEDs I'd do one or two layers of purple film on top of the blue OEM film.

The insert areas where the HVAC knobs go into place, how did you remove those to get them painted?

Those aren't removable. Mask them off very carefully.

Argh. but won't the paint run down? Must have to paint it a million times very lightly.
