I have a question...My neon has normal plastic interior door handles...Can they be replaced with those chrome ones I have seen around?? Is it hard to do??

I thought the R/T had the chrome handles as well
Anyway, the handles are part of the door panel, but they can be switched. I did this on my 2000 because I switched to power locks. The handle "pod" can be removed from the panel, and because Chrysler was nice enough to provide us with another set of unused locator/attaching pins, these can then be melted onto your old panels.
It is easier to simply switch door panels, but in my case I wanted to keep my non-power window panels but have the power lock switch. Like my ACR has come to think of it

My car has them. I thought they all did? Well, I also thought we all had tan interiors, adjustable head rests on the rear seats, and leather steering wheels and shift knobs. As I've recently come to find out, apparently, it's just me.

Nice. Now I've just got to do something about the green...

My car has them, I've been thinking of getting rid of them for a set of srt ones. If I can get my hands one some srt ones, I'd sell mine.

Yeah... 2001 R/T's had them. Not 2002.
Also, I have them in my 2000 Plymouth Neon LX. It also has heated mirrors, ash tray light, under hood light, hood and all the door lock switches for the alarm, rear sway. It has all the nice features. Except rear discs.

My '00 ES has them, along with all the other nice things like listed above.
I also have a set of door panels from an '02 R/T (i know it was an '02 R/T, as Im the one who parted out the car)... and they have chrome handles too.

I just assumed Jason was correct since he has an 01 and an 02
Diablo0 wrote:On the '02 you'll see more DCx cost cuttings. 01 had silver interior door handles where the 02 just had regular grey plastic handles. '01 had racoon headlamps (has a black ring around the edge of the headlamp) whereas the '02 had the all chrome headlamps. '01 you might have a center 3rd headrest on the rear seat and depending on when the '01 was made you could also have the trunk dressup kit which is a nice piece of carpet that covers the underside of the trunk lid.

Alex, I'm shocked- I thought that all export models (especially R/T's) had the chrome handles. If I weren't so stuck on keeping mine stock, I would give up the ones in my SRT for chrome.

mate they imported 2 models here SE and LE ...LE being the luxury model abs traction control leather interior, 4 wheel disks etc...etc..including the aesthetics like chrome handles etc...
My car was slightly less yes it has electric front windows, leather gear knob but no abs or 4 wheel disks.... very similar cars but different, at the time I could not afford the LE...
