Passing Inspection Without Visors

Yup, wrapping the headliner and wanted to make it completely smooth without the handles and visors, but someone told me I must have them to pass inspection. I figured this was ridiculous, but is it true in PA at least? Must you have the visors or at least the air bag labels to pass inspection?
Thanks.

I haven't heard of that, but then I use mine too often to ever give removal a thought. I imagine they could be legitimately considered safety equipment. Kinda like seatbelts: some ppl opt not to use them, but removing them is illegal.

Is it? Even if you have 4-point harnesses? Damn, I'm learning all sorts of new stuff.

If you replace them with DOT approved/SFI harnesses, I don't believe it would be considered removal, just replacement.
Complete removal is illegal. Just like air bags.
Sun visors tho are a bit more of a gray area. I have never heard of a ticket for not using one, but IDK about not having them available...
Call your local State Highway Patrol/DMV, and see if they have some kind of required equipment information. Tell them you are considering building a self assembled vehicle, And you need to know what's absolutely needed.

MD has one thing on some states no safety inspections unless car changes ownership. No driver side airbag for the last 6 years. Even though I have a custom wheel I would have probably removed it anyways. I hate the idea of a huge bag blowing up in my face while I may still need control of my vehicle.
It may have something to do with the safety warnings on most visors now for small children and safety seats.

Yea, looks like I'm going to ditch them. If all else fails, I'll get the same guy to inspect the car that has always passed me with all the other "illegal" stuff on the car.

It will be deflated before you even know what happened. They don't stay inflated like in the movies....
Keeping your face out of the dash/steering wheel will help you maintain control much better. Until you have been in a few accidents where you wonder why you are still breathing, you will never understand the dynamics of the whole ordeal.
Here's to hoping you never will.
