Possibly a good substitute of leather arm rests??

Questions about interior lighting, shift knobs, just anything mainly to do with modifications on the inside of the car. Ask those questions here.

Possibly a good substitute of leather arm rests??

Post by Tam » Thu Dec 16, 2010 10:28 am

I found this on eBay when I searched up neon arm rests. It doesn't look too different from the real ones. However, this is just a cover, not an actual arm rest, but at a fairly good price too.

ARM REST LINK

What do you guys think?

Looks promising. I don't know how much of a pain it would be to remove the factory material, but it can't be all that hard to do.

I may just bite the bullet and try this out.

Right on, Dante. I'm very tempted to do this. But I want someone else to try it first and let everyone here know how it goes before I do. lol.

Gramps should jump on this. haha

If you go to their store, these covers come in many different colors as well

*Edit I just ordered one (in black). I also got a replacement shift boot and parking brake boot set for my wife's new car. $66 shipped from England for all three? Too good to pass up IMO

I kinda like the dark blue armrest cover. Also since I plan on doing a dark blue with black interior eventually.
Drove my neon until it was killed in a flood.

Yeah, they have almost every color of the spectrum...except for the tan interior color. lol. I'd get a blue, but I'd rather get a black one to match my viper seats.

They are located in the UK though, so it'll take longer than usual to ship, I'll bet.

No thanks. OEM for me. Then again, if I get OEM, it probably won't match my seats whenever it is I get them. :(

Comparing the picture to my OEM leather cover, it looks pretty good. The problem with finding a "real" one in the boneyard is that it will most likely be worn on the surface, shined up pretty good. Or worse. For $35 it doesn't seem too bad. I might do one too.

it looks like you already have to have a leather armrest and this replaces it. if i read it right, this one just doesn't slip over a stock plastic one.

If this works it will most definitely replace the tan one I have now. I'm in for the review also.

I didn't order one, but from another ebay vendor/product:
Due to heavy snow storm and the heightened aviation security measures taken by
the USA concerning mail transportation to the country, all air mail services (including Speedpost)
from Hong Kong to the USA are subject to delay until further notice.

Please allow more patience as it may take a bit longer time to receive your parcel.
Any inconvenience caused is much regretted.
This is also a UK vendor, but the parts are direct shipped from Hong Kong. IDK if it is the same situation with the covers. But could be why it is taking extra time.

Possibly, but IDK if the covers originally come from UK, or HK.

I ordered washer nozzles from a different vendor. $5 worth, so I am not too worried about it. I'm sure they will arrive eventually. They were just a back up plan on the GF's poor beater anyways.

Just thought that tid bit of info might give some insight on the delay.

If it has anything to do with the UK, I know they got hit really good with snow.

The north side of the country got 12"+ and the south side was around 3-4". London airport was cancelling a bunch of flights.

This messed up some work stuff for me. I needed to get someone to go to the north side of the country before the end of the year, but that didn't happen.

Not too worried about the delay. If there is a real problem I'll get my money back. But I really want my leather goods :(
