Post by ChinoX » Fri Jun 08, 2012 2:08 pm

This maybe OT, but just curious...

What do you guys put here:

Image

I mean anything i put there my phone, change, keys...just goes flying out on turns

and what about this...is it for SunGlasses?

Image

Also, what about the spot where the cd changer would normally go what do you guys store there?

Just curious

1...Nothing you don't want to have fly out the window.

2...That is a shopping bag hook.

3...Nothing
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

1. I have an SRT boost gauge pod and my volt gauge in there along with a little mount I made up for my XM radio so nothing else really fits there.

2. No idea, never used it.

3. I put my wallet in there, just the right amount of press fit so it doesn't go flying out when I accelerate.

Nevermind, I put my wallet in the spot between the rear defrost and the power outlet.

I don't use the CD changer bin.

Same exact spot I put it, perfect size.

for 1. I put my radar detector....if not that, I'd put gauges there.

Yep. It was one of the many clever things that Chrysler would advertise as driver conveniences. The bad thing is that it doesn't work for crap.

one.. i smy ICELED display (underglow display) so i know what mode i'm on.

two.. ive used that while installing stuff. put wire n tools with string there

three... i put those cigarette light adapter things where you have 3 more lighters and 2 usb ports. that's what i have.

i've seen the #1 filled in with gauges galore, gps, worst thing was someone made the air ducts there and where the air ducts are now was the dials, where the dials are now was a second opening for a double din radio.

#3 most i've seen was switches.

Sticky mats work fairly well, just have to keep it cleaned. For some strange reason, once there is enough dust accumulated on it, stuff just doesn't stick to it anymore. :-k

1. I put one of those nonslip pads they sell to keep your cell phone form sliding around on your dash and cut it to fit in there. Works great for keeping small items there now.

2. Never used it.

3. Used to hide my cell phone there if i wanted to leave it in my car while i was out around town.

I've always put the case for my clip-on-sunglass lenses in number 1 and have had no issues with it moving around. I do dislike the little indentation around the rubber mat in that cavity- fills up with gunk that is very difficult to clean out. :banghead:

I just remembered, location 1 has a fair amount of metal directly under it. I could put my Zune remote up there, and it would stay put. (It has a decent magnet in it.)

But I don't use the docking station anymore, so i don't have the need.

I use to put my sunglasses in spot #1 and when I took a round-a-bout the glasses about slide out the passenger window. Quickly learned not to place anything there while driving.

1. If I leave my sunglasses in the car, I'll toss 'em there sometimes. Not useful for anything while driving unless you want it to fly off and slam into the doors.

2. For shopping bags, as said. All it does is provide a great place for dust to collect behind it so us OCDers have to get creative in getting it all out from around it.

3. The case for my GPS.

2 Never used it, but I now wanna find a way to make it useful.

3 Sometimes my phone but most of the time nothing.

Been keeping my GPS in #3 as out of sight out of mind especially in NYC

As for spot #2, lets see what can be done, I hate having to open the armrest all the way so that anyone in the back has a cup holder...I think I am going to modify something with this...

For some reason I really really like this thread. I agree it's funny to look at all the random stuff in our cars interior.

Cool, by all means post pics of interior things in your car you're curious about...lol

My rear dual cup holder hit a little snag thought it would be like my Maxima where its 2 hinges that hold the arm rest just noticed its only one, but still working on it. :tardbang:
