canbus leds

Post by red2k2rt » Fri Dec 06, 2013 2:28 pm

Does anyone know of any issues running canbus leds such as http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-6000K-LED-50 ... 33886563fd in our cars? I cant seem to find any real solid info on the net.

they are made for cars that have a "bulb out" warning in the dash display, so you can use them but our cars don't have that issue with leds. i would check out these guys

Ill probably get flamed for this... I know everyone buys there LEDs from superbright or autoillumination, but I just bought a two ten packs of 194 5 smd bulbs on amazon for $7 and they work great. No visible variation in color and none have burnt out yet... Just my .02

Meh, you can get them where ever works best for you.

It's a little tough to get free shipping with just $7 on amazon tho. Probably why I still use EBay more. I am not forced to buy a minimum amount , or enroll in something to get free shipping.

As for the original post, they should work fine as long as they fit in the socket.

i like mentioning superbright because if you don't know what you are looking for or how bulb sizes work then they are pretty painless

i was looking at superbright but for what the ebay seller wants for 4 of those 194's vs what superbright wants its a no brainer for me. I have vleds now but a few went bad already and they discontinued the ones i purchased but they will refund the money i paid for the bad ones after i send them back. If the information i found after i posted the link is correct these are generation 1 canbus bulbs because the resistor is closer to the bulbs. from what i read there was an issue with them overheating and falling apart. now if this is not true great if it is then i need to find different bulbs.

Why get flamed ??
If they work... They work. :)

I've bought plenty of stuff from Amazon before, myself... Including Exhaust systems for my Neon. :)
