its behind the airbag sensor, next to the hand brake. Its just a 3 prong, i dont know if it would be for rear side curtain? no idea what it is. all i want to do is run a wire to it to charge cell phones from the back seat lol so no more than 5 volts

Nope, never offered on Neons. Front were standard, side were optional.

Yeah I think it's the plug for the srt srs seats... I think it's 12V through possible the yellow wire but I'm not positive

violett/yellow = PCI-bus
black = ground
darkgreen = possibly FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN)

PCI-bus is just the universal communication wire which is used for SKIM, ECU, TCM, cluster and so on.

So leave that wire as is and try the other both.

Agreed, if you ground out the PCI bus, none of your communication will work across it. Your cluster etc, will not function.

Not sure what would happen if you applied voltage to it, might not hurt anything, but not worth risking a PCM. Either way, you would lose Bus functions.

Most USB charger set ups only draw 0.1 to possibly 0.2 amps, so the wire should work, provided it has voltage there....

Are you using the 7805 voltage regulator, or adapting a cigarette lighter style plug in?

LM7805 is what I used, and a PC add on USB port. I made a plate for my cubby hole to mount it in.

So am i safe to wire into this or not? As soon as i read "frying PCM" my mind went :shock: So what do? Should i just run a wire from the internal fusebox under the consol and do an outlet or what?

violett/yellow = PCI-bus

means:" Don´t touch this"

******

black = ground

means:" use it"

******
darkgreen = possibly FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN)

means:" Measure it"

-> if there is 12V on this wire and only when you turned the key to RUN-Position, then use it.
