2010 Carlisle NEW ENGLAND Caravan
I made this to organize the Locals who are driving down and when. Possibly get a caravan going. Would be awesome to be a huge group to pull into Carlisle. Lets see whos going and when and see if we can get everyone together!!! Even if we have to meet up with different groups along the way I think we can get it to work!!
I am down for leaving either Thurs or Fri. Word of caution my car wont look that great but I dont care Im bringing it anyway LOL!!

Every year, I leave my place late Thursday morning. It's worked out great because I end up at the Harrisburg West with quite a bit of daylight left. I strongly suggest leaving Thursday because there's always a huge hangout at the hotel Thursday night. Definitely worth it.

I usually leave MA between 10am and noon Thursday. I don't necessarily do it for traffic. I just like having the extra night there and also being able to get to the fairgrounds early Friday morning (8am-ish).
As far as traffic, if you only take I-95 until you enter NY, then get on I-287, it is a beautiful, traffic-free ride the rest of the way. Do NOT take I-95 through the Bronx!

No problem man. Everybody's plans differ. You might be able to hook up with Mat depending on his situation when the time comes. This is my only solo getaway every year, so I'll be maximizing it like I usually do.

Oh man, that was exactly what I (we) needed after getting so pissed off about the alternator. If we get off in Spring Valley again, maybe we can hit up that Jewish version of Burger King that we saw on the main street (I think it was legitimately called Kosher King, hahahaa). That was one of the weirdest areas I've ever been in. Granted, I'm sure some people say that about Fall Reev too.
The ride down there last year was definitely one for the books. Crazy.

I bet your boss knows that you are just holding a room and you have until the day of the reservation to cancel with no worries.

Thats cool. Figured that. So Swansea mall hmmm. Not too bad. Do you guys just hit 95 south from there. Im just curious cause its not just me its the Wifey as well. Im gonna have my Gps just in case and Im sure we will get everyone's cell phone number etc in case of emergencies/ bathrooms LOL. Just wasnt sure if there were any plans of meeting up with other groups.
Matt do u still mind carrying a couple of items. I dont have room for a spare jack tools etc. (knock on wood) just in case. Let me know

Yea, we just jump on 95 and go. I dont think we made one bathroom stop. I know we stopped in jersey for a parts run, then maybe 2 more gas stops.
We'll have to see if I have room, might be lugging down some parts with me. I'll have a full size jack of my own if you need it.

Ok yea if you have it then there is no need for extras. I may bring my scissor jack just because of how low I am. I think Im bringing down some parts too. LOL. Its all good man we will make it work.
I figure if we stop for gas and stuff we should be fine for any "pit stops needed". I will say the one crappy part is no Dunkin Donuts after Conn. Stuck drinking gas station coffee LOL.
Now we do take the toll-less route that brings us through no mans land right? So we arent spending 100's of dollars in tolls!!!

Mike, I was just checking a map and the Swansea Mall is a bit out of your way. Now that I'm living in Taunton, it's actually a bit out of my way as well. Maybe we can all meet closer to East Providence? There's plenty of stores and gas around there for any last minute stuff we might need.
As far as tolls, we'll only run into about $5 worth of tolls if we take I-287. Not to mention it is a MUCH easier ride. I-95 through NY is not only suicide, you will pay ridiculous tolls, as in close to $25 one way. The George Washington Bridge alone is $8!

Yea man thats what I was thinking as well. Im sure we can find somewhere to meet.
As for I 287 thats how I have gone down to maryland. I just hope they have finished some of the construction they were doing since the last time I went. I really dont want to rip a bumper off on the way. LOL
I took 95s the whole way and kicked myself so hard. I paid 100+ bux just in tolls. My little piece of crap daily only needed 2 tanks of gas but it still hurt the wallet. LOL.
As it gets closer we can see whos coming and hopefully get all organized. Cant wait guys.
Also I see SLAW is going im gonna send him a pm and see whats up.

Yeah definitely. I'm not sure where in CT he lives, but there might be some place we can meet up. I'd like to see if ragek23 Kevin wants to meet up somewhere as well since he's also in CT.
