2011 CARLISLE GROUP CARAVAN THREAD (NY, VT, MA, RI, Etc.)

Ok starting to organize our drive down to our annual meet in Carlisle, PA. We have met up a few years now. Members from areas located in the Northeast meet up and drive to either the end of NY or the beginning of NJ and then drive together the rest of the way. Takes about 5-7 hours depending on where different people in this route are coming from.

WHEN? We will be meeting up either late morning or early afternoon on THURSDAY, July 7th. Some may also drive back home together. Others may be leaving earlier or staying later.

The route roughly consists of these roads:
1) I-87S or I95S or I84W or I90
2) I-287S
3) I-78W
4) I-81S

Right now I believe the list roughly stands as:
1) lilnicko11

5) johnnymopar
6) glasswars
7) lilsparkplg (maybe)

9) slaw

ok so for people like me who have responsibilities and full time jobs, we're screwed? LOL Anyone looking to meat on Fri 5-6ish and roll down? I take the turnpike straight down from the Neshaminy/racetrack and it takes about 2hrs.

ur not screwed. but a lot of us have been doing this for a while and schedule time off for the full time to be there. if ur only 2 hours away then its a quick drive for you. We all meet up because we still have 3-4 hours to go and its a fun drive all together.

Probably Friday night like you it all depends on Ryan and Frank are going and when they want to meet up but it will probable be Friday afternoon or night.

yea nick I should be good to go down with you guys.....UNLESS I get a trailer in the next 2 months to bring her down which I doubt will happen.....Ill keep you posted as the time gets closer!!!

Cant wait!!! At the LEAST no ATX this year...as for the R/T head and stuff Im not sure I will have enough time....!!!!

I'm in this year. I have new tires already, so I won't get my teeth rattled out on the highway! Not to mention, I won't have to explain to dozens of crazy 2GNers why my facking wheels don't match.

I still can't believe that thing didn't blow.

Lets all plan on meeting on the first part of I-287. When it comes closer to time we will figure out an exit. We should aim for like noon-1. We wanna get down there and miss the rush hour traffic within Jersey.

I've gone down late Thursday morning for the past 5 years and in my opinion, it's the best possible time. It gets you there around dinner time Thursday, so you've got an extra night to hang out with everybody.

Hey Anthony, do you know where abouts on I-287 you will be getting on. We hit the beginning of it pretty much. So the first exits we come across will be in the low 60's or high 50's I do believe.....

i used to go thru jersey and NY area to get there but the traffic was a bit much so last year i went 84 thru NY and PA into 81 and that was a little easier, but i dont mind driving a different route to meet up with u guys, let me know where to be when and im good

do whatever is quicker, cheaper, and easier..... either way is cool. let us know

we get on in the high 50's on I287S.. my best guess on Anthony would be low 40's.

Slaw, when you said you hit traffic through NY/NJ, did you take 95 or 287? There's no traffic and next to nothing for tolls going 287 to 78. It slingshots you around New York City and makes for a pretty easy-going trip.

it seems the best place for everyone to meet up will be on I287S .... We will know an exit when time gets closer.

Crystal please come. We all would love for you to be there. Make it happen. Don't make us beg like every other year.
