A valid reason. Sorry that you'll miss the meet. Maybe I should have one in Indy later on this year...gtxtreme19 wrote:Ok guys I'm sorry but I just found out my brother has his leave from the army on the 30th and ill be meeting him at fort Knox, so I wont be making it. I would give them 'till Friday, then call to check your status. Shouldn't take them more than a few days to let you know. Especially if they told you they were going to hire you. They should have given you a time frame at the least.
Usually paper work is done on the day you start, at least that is how my employer does it with new hires/temps. But then I haven't started a new job in over 24 years, so it's not like I've seen much variety.
It does make things less stressful when you have a clue as to when you can give your current employer notice. (Not that I haven't shopped around )

Thanks for the tips bill
As for the job, finally got a call this morning, so I went in to sign the waiver for my background check and went and had my drug test. Being a student, it's always refreshing to take a test with no questions on it
I also asked about getting the 30th off or getting out by 2 that day, and it didn't sound like it would be a problem. YAY
