Theres a bunch of "show" guys down in Fresno etc. Washington has a few. Oregon has a few. They don't post much though. Theres a kid in Alameda. mopar00neon is around here somewhere.
April 29-30 weekend there is a NASA event at Infineon. That would be cool to hook-up there and go watch some cool racing. The Nor-Cal SCCA has a pretty good schedule going too. That'd be fun to watch and hang at. Bring te family and shit.

I hit up the fresno SCCA races in Atwater though most of the season. I dont really do the fresno show group, heard a lot of issues with them and Id just rather stay away myself.

But a neon meet out here is difficult to pull off. The ex and I use to try to organize something but nothing ever worked out. Only west coast meets Ive ever been to are for vintage cars and mustangs. lol

Im actually in Atwater... so it works out perfectly that they use the abandoned Air Force base for autoX here. lol

We probably should one of these days. I know Danny and I have been talking about it for years, just havent had the chance yet I guess. Plus him and I both kind of fell out of the neon thing for a while. Im not 100% back, but Ill be working on it again now, since Ive got nothing else to race and an SRT swap is cheaper than a cobra right now. eh.

We live in the Central Valley dude. What else do we have to do? lol We should hook - up with Dannyboy in San Jose. At least downtown there are bars and stuff to do. How about Casa De Fruita? HAHAHAH A That place is cooky. They got a hotel we could tear up. :D Oh, and a petting zoo. Didn't realize how close you were. My buddy is a Merced Firefighter. Lives in Livingston. aka armpit of Turlock, gateway to Atwater.

Ah, most of my time is spent in school anymore.... Criminal justice classes, fire science classes, gen-ed classes, the police academy, when thats done the fire academy, and THEN its off to get my BA. (forensic science, almost 100 units, IF i start as a Jr. at a 4year)... and working, Got an interview for MCPD, my application is still in for AFD, as Id like a PCF job there before going into the fire academy. And in 2-3 months Ill be testing for merced SO.

Damn, it feels like just as much to type out, as it does to actually do it. lol

Casa De Fruita could be good. One of my friends and fellow autoXers and his woman go up there pretty frequently to hang out and take pics of their cars (a track prepped fox body, and a mazdaspeed miata) on 152 along the resivor and at dinosar point and such.

You ain't kiddin' I did two four-year apprentcieships Electrical and Stationary Engineering. Now I'm back at my bachelor's in Healthcare Management while I work 60 hours a week supervising a 14 man Engineering crew at one of Kaiser Permanente's 330,000 sq. ft. IT campuses in Pleasanton. Like I said I know a dude. After academy, I'll drop your name. It may help, it may not. 8)

I know how that goes too. Im getting such a late start on my CJ and FS classes because I spent most of my years after highschool working on an EE degree. Took me that long to realize that as much as I liked it, it wasnt for me.... now law and investigation type stuff seems to be second nature to me, and it never gets boreing. (doing law and fire, Id like to become an arson/bomb specialist for CDF, atleast thats my career goal)

COOL. My buddy is/was a Bioterrorism Scientist at Lawrence Livermore Lab. He got me an exploded pipe bomb from the "evidence dump" so I could make it into a mantle piece. It looks like a metallic flower. Pretty cool shit = explosives and such. I wish you luck. you've got lofty goals man. 8)

Your probably right. There is a SPEC-Neon (NASA) race June 24-25 in Fernley, NV. 20 minutes outside Reno. I'm going. I'm doing the 25hurs at Thunderhill in December too. Lotta' cool stuff happening around teh Bay Area too. mopar00neon says that there is a track in Fresno with a bunch of SCCA stuf going constantly. (Kinda' like Alameda, lol) Lets keep throwing ideas out dudes. 8)

Oh, no. Its the Fresno chapter of the SCCA, but the track is at the old Air Force base here in Atwater (Castle AFB). Takes like 5 minutes to get to from my house. lol

Our dates arent so great this year, only like one or two races a month tops, but the American AutoX uses the base too, so there is a race out there almost every sunday, and a few saturdays too.

the srt vs neon rivalry. most srt guys arent neon guys first, theyre just regular doods with a lot of money who want a fast car. so those srt guys (most) dont respect neons and consider their cars better just cuz they run boost and paid 10k more. thats how some guys are around here, hella mug cuz i have a modded neon and they know they can blow my doors off (we'll see what happens when i get the chang$ to do my srt motor swap). people in vacaville are gay like that.

I can attest to some of orangeblast's problems buut its not THAT bad here. Just punk kids in the car mommy and daddy bought em'.
Dude, I'll honestly never do a Wed. night. I manage a 330,000 square foot campus for Kiaser Permanente. I have NO extra time during the week.

most SRT guys on the norcalsrt4 forums seem pretty cool, and most are like 20 years old+. they also hate street racing. they gave me a warm welcome, and told me not to worry since most of them had neons before SRT4s. but i guess you just see the rich kids,

No stickers. its pretty stealth. No wing, nicely lowered, no crazy camber, no vinyl. Loud-ass BOV and exhaust when he opens it up though. (It was loud on the freeway when he pulled up next tome, gave me the nod of approval, downshifted, warp speed.....)

all the dudes i see are early-mid 20's lookin dudes with DARK tint, and lots of noisy BOV's/exhuasts. this ca edition one is sick though, reaaaally loud, sounds like a effin v8 muscle car, just straight bass in the chest when it passes. I can count at least 6-7 i see often, and another 3-4 ive only seen once or twice. Thats just in Vacaville and i dont even live there haha i live and work in Napa, and theres a few here too. lots of mexicans here so there are some rice neons too hehe, hella fugly.

anyways, im down for an scca or a weds night, but im busy as hell so dont think im flakin if i cant make it.

Why Not Meet at Rim of the World Rally & Car Show?

Post by JaggedEdgeMotorsport » Sat Mar 18, 2006 10:01 pm

Hey guys,

I have been reading all of these posts from everyone in the No. Cal area and am wondering why don't you all join us at one of biggest rally races/car shows in the area, Rim of the World Rally?

I am attaching the website info: "If you're an import car fan the place to be on Saturday, May 7 is the New Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, California. The Car Show is open to all makes and includes all the classes listed in the graphic above.

Surrounded by America's premiere ProRally, an event that has been called "the Daytona 500" of the rally world, this auto show is guaranteed to standout from the crowd. Show goers will be treated to many of the hottest import rides in Southern California including dozens of custom Lancers, Eclipses, and Evo's lined up nose to nose with Impreza's, WRX's, and STi's. While the "red" and "blue" fight in out on the rally's super special stage in front of the fairground's stadium grandstands."

This year Neon's will be represented both in the race and the car show. Our Jagged Edge Motorsports Neon won't be competiting in the rally because we have been asked to be in the car show instead. We could really use some other Neon support, so why not show your car there or at least come and check it out? Hope to see you there----
