Here's a few pictures I took today after washing my car. I put the hood on the car to bring it to a few body shops to get quotes on how much it would cost to get it painted and installed (doing that tomorrow), so I thought I'd snap a few pictures and photochop the hood black to see how it'd look. I think it's gonna look REAL good. And yes, I decided I'm going to cut the hole out of the scoop...not be a lame poser who puts a fiberglass hood on with absolutely NO funtionality what-so-ever. Anyways, here's the pics. Lemme know what ya think!

It's hard to get the glossiness out of the picture, so it really doesn't look "flat", but it gives you an idea.

y?? dont cut the hood.... that wouldnt help your car at all. It would only help if you had a turbo underneath that hood. It isnt going to help on a 2.0 na sohc. Just my 2 cents

Looks good! And I agree supertrick absolutely!
Specialhood with megascoop and without intake looks very cheap.
Doesn't matter if it helps the engine - it helps the overall impression...

I'm hoping I can make it funtional by fabricating a "ram-air" system. I have to fab a box that will sit on top of the intake manifold and have a flat air filter on top, with weather stripping around the top and cut a hole on the bottom of the hood and the air box will have a sealed fit against the hood when closed and suck in the air that the scoop picks up. I just have to think of how I can keep the water/rain out of it...I'll try to get a quick sketch of what I'm talking about.

Not really a fan of that hood, well then again I am not a fan of any aftermarket hood on a Neon. the hood looks like it belongs on a Camaro/Firebird. But then again you are doing the "AAR" thing on your Neon, so it will go well I guess.

The "ram-air" system I'm thinking of fabbing up is kindof the same concept as the WRX's intercooler set-up. It would look similar, but with a rectangle top-mount K&N air filter. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's a pic of the WRX's engine bay:

I've tried photochopping that, and to me, it looks like a big black lobster claw. LoL...so no.

And about the wheels...I'd like to get some new ones, but I can't afford them at the moment.

Yeah, I know...that's what I'm worried about. I think it would be a really cool set-up, but I'm not sure how I'd keep the filter from getting wet in the rain?
