Seems like there were a lot of pictures of painted to match door panels or the like. I've had this idea for a while now. Finally got the leather and glue together and sat down tonight to burn the living shit out of my fingers putting this on. Hot glue is one of the greatest inventions ever but man oh man it fucking hurts. Anyway..... yall do paint... I go for the gusto baby. Lil leather action never killed no one
Only got one done tonight. Leather is a bit harder to work with when you don't have access to a heat gun. Had to settle for el cheapo german spray glue instead of my normal Super 77 3m stuff. And yes.... Thats Louis Vuitton.

Its fake but looks cool.
The real speedie has 33 colors. Every multicolore piece should include a total of 33 silkscreened colors: 9 different colored LVs, and 24 different colored quatrefoils and fleurs. The girl friend would never let me forget that if I bought a fake LOL

I know but the girlfriend is obsessed with purses. I know as much about them as she knows about cars now.

At around 800 euro a square meter..... I'll settle for 5 colored LV's

This stuff is VERY hard to come by even in fake printings and is still terribly expensive. All in all I'll do a good deal of the car in this leather (and the matching brown with tan printing) at a cost of nearly 300 euro for just material.

That's hideous! But I guess the busy luxurious patterns are sweeping the market. To each his own!

You ended on a nice note...so good to you. But common people! We're not the OTHER .org here. I think BRAVO for doing somehting that fits your personality, looks like a clean install...and is different from what all of us are doing. Hope the other one goes well.

I think it looks like wrapping paper honestly. But I wanted something that was going to turn peoples heads and make them go Wha wha WHAT!?!??! I think the shear gaud of it is enough to catch a bit of attention. I wanted to do raised lettering in them, but with this leather being so thick and no access to a heat gun AND this stuff is white.... I gave it a no go because of too many factors not in my favor. I've had a few people ask me for pictures of the interior. Once I get everything installed I'll shoot a few to show how it turns out. Unfortunately, today is a car show, tomorrow is 24 hours of work then I get off at 9am Monday to have to return to work at 1pm to take a class. Tuesday is another 24 hours of work so.... no time til probably Weds evening to start on the other panels.

All I can see in my head is Kyle's Mom from South Park, getting all pissed off at your car for something.
I think the door inserts would look good if there is something else to tie them into the interior. Maybe warp the center arm rest in the same material?
Justin- I have nothing but smart ass remarks to add.

Looks interesting. Not my cup of tea either, but looks like you did a nice job.
I never understood why girls spend all that money on a purse that they use for a couple months and then they have to put it away for the season. Its stupid.

In all honesty the pictures turned out better than the end product. I'm not pleased with how it is in 2 spots so I'll trim them down. Hopefully I won't have to redo it as this single piece of leather... even though its a fake.... cost me a pretty penny. I don't know what else I'll do in this color leather. I'm going to try to pick up some of the brown monotone to do the spots where the carpet is on the doors. We'll see how it ends up. Too much work in the next few days to fool wiht it.

i think it looks good and like said above... it would look a lot better if you do some more other than just the door panels.
i've been thinking about doing the same, but with coach material... a black/tan look

I just consigned a lady tonight to do the shift boot in this same leather. She's going to make a couple of them with the leather I've got. Maybe I'll throw them up for sale. I don't know though.... problem is with copywrite infringements on something like this... Ol Louis could be PISSED. Maybe if I get enough of the brown I'll do some of the center console in that. Not sure yet whats going to go on though. What i"m thinking might look tight is a few black lights strategically placed in the car shining on all these white parts. That might look pretty sick. I got all winter to play with it. Summer barely hit this year over here. Its been cold and rainy for a good portion of it. Most of us car guys are already looking at our winter projects.

Pimp my ride is a joke. I've only watched a couple of episodes and that shit is cheesy crap. I don't think I could dream up some of the stuff so horrible that they come up with. But thanks for the comments!
