PIC Request of DEPO vs. TYC Headlights.

Post by GTS » Wed Aug 30, 2006 6:24 pm

I've been trying to figure out the differences in the reflector patterns of the two but I cant find any large pictures. Can someone post some close up shots of the insdie (reflector part) so that i can compare. I am sorta trying to do a study here comparing price vs. reflector pattern. vs. quality. vs. light pattern.

Thanks in advance guys....

it doesnt matter as long as you have a picture of the reflector itself it would be ok. 00-02s are the ones i need.

Loooking at those pictures I can see a certain difference in relfector patterns. Take a look. Some of the Areas I circled with RED have a ribbed section and some of th one dont. Now who has waht kind and can you get some light pattern pictures so that i can see if that ribbing has any effect on the headlight performance.

Haha, you are looking WAY too far into this. They are both a comprable OE replacement. Light output of either is not going to be drastically different.

Well i want to buy the best product for the money and I think other people would agree too that it would be kinda nice to know what you are getting for your money. I am going with an HID kit and i would like to know what the patterns are before I make the move and spend 400-500 bux on that stuff.

Having had HID's in stock headlight housing on my old neon and in aftermarket housings in Neonix's neon I can personally tell you there is no difference between the two. Which would also lead me to believe there will be no difference between the TYC or Depo's. Only way you will see a noticeable difference in beam pattern is from stock style housings to projectors.

The depo's dont have the lines in the reflectors that you are worried about. Im guessing TYCs do have those lines. However I do not think it will matter. I dont have any pictures because I used them for a hid projector retro.

This headlight is looking like a stock euro headlight. I still have them on my Neon. Asymmetrical headlight, height adjustment and a white bulb for the parking light.

Hmm, just headlights...
I'll swap them to the 03+ headlights but i have to rebuild my new headlights with the old reflectors - so i can't sale them.
The light is on passengers side like in the upper pic.

Image

At ebay.de are they to have

passenger side

driver side

If you wanna have them, just ask marakka, i think he could find a way...

If you are running HID's, please use a projector, even if it's the ones from ebay, that way I don't have to carry my Desert Eagle around for when I need to shoot out your headlights for blinding me and my family........thanks, and have a nice day.

I C.... so you are the guy that shot my headlights.... :x Damn you. You are gonna pay for this :D ... I am just kidding.

Projectors are a MUST HAVE for this type of project but I am not giving any more clues as to what I am doing.

I have HIDs and no projectors and in the time that I've had them I have NEVER been flashed by anyone, nor has anyone commented on they are too bright and blinding anyone in front of me. I know you'll come back with "it depends on how far or close I am to someone" and I've been really far, far, close, closer and as close to someone as I'll comfortable get and still no complaints.

If someone made decent looking projectors I'd probably buy them. But I will not buy those nasty projectors off of ebay unless you'd like to buy them for me since it bothers you so much. I'd hate to blind you or your family. :D

LOL, I gotta hand it to you, you handled my comment tactfully, I like that.

I will make you some projector headlights, PM me and we wil discuss price........

By the way, the issue of blinding people may have something to do with your bulb, it may have a D2R bulb instead of a D2S bulb, do you have a pic of your bulb? It may also be that your's are aimed too low to really give you GREAT performance......Just PM me and I will give you a price on projector headlights like mine.......but for a 00-02 headlight.
