First of all sweet. Was thinking of painting one of my other cars (older FWD Mopar) that color.
Second on the SRT drivetrain cooling issues, the SRT crowd was seeing the exact same issue with the plastic cowl pieces melting when the rubber rear hood seal was removed. Apparently the plastic doesn't like that much heat.
I believe there is a carbon fiber hood from on the market, can't remember which company manufactures it, but it was apparently based on the standard Neon hood as opposed to being molded off an OEM SRT hood. So the the fit on the leading edge of the hood and around the headlights should match an oem flat Neon hood better than an OEM SRT hood.
Also are you SRT swap guys running the standard 2.0l Neon radiator and fan, or did you swap to the SRT radiator and fan setup?
I think the SRT actually comes with dual fans, and I would guess the SRT radiator might have a ticker core than the standard 2.0l Neon. I looked up the part numbers once for an SRT vs. 2.0l PL and they were different, but I never got to compare both pieces myself to confirm what exactly was different about them.

Like I said before, I love the SRT hood on it. I'm not too sure why some think it's too much.

Honestly guys.....most people don't notice it, but if you look CLOSELY at an SRT-4, there is a gap at the front with stock hood and front fascia. It's just like that...even from the factory on the SRT-4. Granted, it does show a tad bit more with 00-02 lights, but I personally think the hood really changes the look of his car with the non-srt bumper/lights.
I personally have an OEM style CF hood on my SRT powered "neon", and with my 160* T-stat I don't have ANY problems with overheating, except if I have to sit in the staging lanes for too long after I hot lap.
