Photo Request: Black Neon with ??? Colored Wheels

Post by EmersonHart13 » Thu Sep 21, 2006 11:28 am

The SRT-4 Wheels on my Neon will be going to the powdercoater this winter so I am trying to decide the color they will be. I am sure there are photos all over this site to answer my question I just cannot seem to find them, so let's see your Black cars!

Thanks,

John

Well it has to be a powdercoat color or similiar so some choices are not available. I have a set of SRT4 rims that need to be re done to an incident my gf had with a very high curb....

Thanks for the input so far!

I don't see red happening, red calipers are a yes though!

As far as the wheels I am liking the Dark Grey the most, like a grahite or gunmetal.

Correct me if i'm wrong... but i heard that the powdercoating process would weaken aluminum wheels. I think that was just in regards to the BBS thin spoke style... If I'm wrong... more power to ya! Just a heads up.

And i think black rims with a red stripe around the lip would look ++++SEXY

No it doesn't. Our family had a Rodeo with powdercoated wheels and they were beautiful until the day we bought them, no problems at all.

Well, depending on how the wheel was formed and what it was made out of it could weaked in the wheel. If the wheel was heat treated to strengthen the aluminum then it could alter it's strength when the wheel is baked for powdercoating. How much it would alter it I have no idea as I'm not an expert but I suppose it could change it depending on how hot you're heating it to.
