That's exactly what i'm thinkin! I'm only here to get inspiration.

My 96 was at my taste when i give it to the junkyard, and that's what i wanna do with my 05 (not giving it to a junkyard, but modify it at my taste... :D).

Yea, Street and Racing Technology

to bad they came out with a SRT clone... kinda defeted the purpose of the name, even if D is on the end.

an SRT-4 (usually called an SRT) is the one wiht the 2.4 turbo motor.

the SRT-D (the car in this topic) is a basic SXT (2.0 SOHC non turbo) with different bumpers, the SRT wing, and the SRT hood. its an appearance package, and it was a GAY decision on dodge's part.

First i thought the "D" were the sign for "Diesel"... :)
Hmm, someone takes his Neon and put SRT-4 parts on it - and the other one buyes the finished clone...

some people around where i live were known to have paid almost $20k for the SRT-D while most new SXTs were around $11k and new SRTs were at $18k-21k but a used SRT could be had for around $13k-14k... it was effing stupid.

I paid 18 000 $ CAN for my SRT-D brand new. A used SRT-4 (non VGA), here in Quebec, is almost 20 000 $ CAN to 24 000 $ CAN, so it's a big difference.

And, when i had to change my car, only Chrysler accept to finance me because it was my third day at my new job...

By the way, the SRT-Design package is only a 1600 $ CAN option package on the Sport model (SXT in USA) and it include SRT hood, SRT-D bumper, SRT spoiler, R/T muffler, R/T rear bumper.

You can't be serious right? Have you taken any time to look at your car?

This thread is hilarious! Like benny hill and neons.org rolled into one. Its so funny that a few people that are giving not so creative comments regarding your car are the same ones with SRT bumpers. At least yours is stock. Talk about calling the kettle black.

I like your car, i like the wheels. you should look into buying the mopar lip kit for your car, it will really set off the look of your srt design. There are some places that will even sell it to you already painted.

I have a howell srt concept front along with srt rear and sides. At least i know i'm a ricer and not suffering from ricer denial like the few that posted in this thread. The others would probably jump at the chance of putting an srt bumper on their neons too.

I was just stating I thought it was dumb as hell for Chrysler to come out with a design of the SRT. Soooo my car has a SRT front... what's your point? I'm getting a lip and going turbo (well, maybe on the turbo. not 100% on that one yet). I'm not making my car look like a SRT clone, I'm simply going the cheaper routes of making a good-looking show car.

I never said there was a single thing wrong with his car. I just don't like the idea of a stock SRT look a like.

I think you need to re-read your quote and my post again. My entire point is the fact that it comes from the factory the way that it looks. Obviously dodge did see some demand for a car that looks the way that it did. If they didn't then they wouldnt have made it. I'm sure they got the idea from people very simillar from you and I. So why bash it?

Would anyone truly notice that much of a difference between his car and yours with an untrained eye? I doubt it. They would surely see you made some changes however they would never be able to tell its not the same type model car. This goes the same for our srt clone neons and real SRT's.

I don't want to turn this perfectly good thread into a flame. I just think all of you need to realize that your criticism is not only uncalled for, but it can go both ways. Turbo or not, whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Deep down inside you wanted your car to look like an srt right from the factory.
