Run off the road Pics Now Up!!

well I was on my way home last night and a white Toyota Corolla was on my side of the road without their headlights on. I tried to move over on my side of the road as much as possible, but my tires slipped off the road and sent me off the road. I slid down into a ditch, back up it, hit a concrete driveway edge, went over the driveway, bottomed out on the other side slid somemore....hit the ditch again, and came back up onto the road. I looked to see where the car was at and the had pulled into a driveway and then backed out and took off. I called the police and they sent people looking for it, along with another call where it had happened to someone else also right down the road.

Damage issued is as followed from what I can tell at the moment:

both control arms are bent
both front rims are bent
both fron tires have knots in the side walls
the tranny isn't shifting smoothly
when I put it into drive it idles rough(almost feels like the engine is about to drop out of it.
Tranny was hit and dented
oil pan was dented
timing belt cover shattered
front bumper was damaged
driver side finder was damage
fenderwell (driverside) is pushed in about 4 inches from the tire
front bumper lip underneath is shattered
tranny oil cooler is damaged
bent front sway bar

All of my motor mounts broke completely in half. the valve cover is literly sitting on the fan shroud and the radiator, and the header is up toward the firewall. I had a mechanic friend of mine to look at it and see what he thought. So far everything should be able to be fixed but everything to be fixed is going to be about $3K. So with that said.....we can only wait and see what will happen with the insurance company.

I hit my head on the steering wheel but I think I am ok. I just wish I could have caught the guy ...I would have killed him. Any how...I have turned this into my insurance and now I am waiting on an apraiser to look at it. i don't know how much the damage is going to equal up to.....Everyone pray for the best.

I Hope To Have Pics Tomorrow For You All To Look At Of The Damage.

update:here are the pics of some of the damage....most of it is underneath the car so i can't get good shots off it. The apraiser came by and looked at it....it is not totaled....so that is a good thing. i have notes with each picture to explan the damage incase some of you don't see it right off.

Image
this shows the wheel offset pushed backward along with the fender gap and the front bumper pushed in.

Image
another image of the fender gap.

Image
fender/hood alignment.....you can tell how off it is.

Image
you can see how the headlight got shifted due to the bumper pressed and bowed.

Image
gap between hood and grill

Image
front bumper damage front contact with concrete driveway.

Image
part of this was already damaged...but now it is worse....but the whole bumper is being replaced from the insurance.

Image
You can see where it bottomed out. This was the only shot I could get for now.

Image
you can see the displacement of the motor in this mount. The mount actually broke from the body also.

Image
This picture shows the foward lean of the motor.

Image
This picture shows the space between the intake and the fans....which is NONE!

Image
another image of the foward lean against the fans and radiator.

The apraiser came by and said that all would be fixed. I do get the front bumper with the fogs....I get new fenders if my option if I wish to pay the difference for each. I get new rims if they are bent in front, and everything else listed above would be fixed. I also can get upgraded motor mounts and inserts if I wish....I just have to pay the difference. They pay for paint, and I am also getting the rear bumper painted due to it scratching on the driveway when i went across it. So it looks like I am coming out good with this deal and I feel like this is my chance to jump on some more progress on my car.

Damn dude, that sucks, I loved your car! So clean. But not to be negative it does sound close to totalled. Hopefully they'll catch him.

Now I definetly stand by the fact that there is some bad luck going around this forum..

Yes, glad that you are okay. Ever noticed how the dummies that cause stuff like this always seem to come out without a scratch? Wait until Judgement Day... They will have some 'splainin' to do.

if you are talking about my sig..when droped....I was on ground control sleeves.....now I am on stock springs......I hope to be getting some koni yellow adjustable struts and some Eibach springs....the sleeves rode horrid! My grilfriend complained about it to much and refused to ride after a while....so I got rid of them....a friend gave them to me to use....but I gave them back within a week.....

I know how it is! Even if it's just a scratch it seems like the worse damage in the world, just because it wasn't there before. Any damage sucks. Just be glad you're getting it fixed, and getting some better things out of it.
