I hate cleaning...

I have had my '02 R/T for a few weeks now and I am just making a dent in the filth that covered it when I got it. So far I have ran 3 pints of seafoam through the oil and two oil changes (the dino oil that was in the car when I got it had OVER 10,0000 miles on it). I've put in new plugs and wires, flushed the coolant and flushed the trans fluid. A much needed alignment was done. I was able to bend my intake heat sheild that came off my '03 and fit it into the '02. Iv'e polished the hell out of the paint and put a nice coat of sealer on it. The interior was removed and cleand very good.
The engine bay the night I picked up the car.
The engine bay as it sits now, MANY hours of work. It still needs many more hours of work

I'm only about halfway through cleaning the rust off of all the bolts. Soon I will remove the intake manifold and give it a good polish.
Removing the interior. Broken glass was found throughout the interior, evidence that a window was smashed in at sometime.
LOTS of dog hair was everywhere!
Anyone want some free brake dust? I've got plenty! It took me around an hour to polish the brake grim off of just one wheel. For now I have my '03 r/t wheels on. The 'tires that were on the car where cording very badly too, so I'll need to mount some new tires before I can run the '02 wheels.
Why you shouldn't use the same spark plugs for 78,000 miles! The ORIGINAL sparkplugs were removed after prying them from the corroded threads of the head. They measured 0.075 gap...
Why you shouldn't drop a new sparkplug onto concret.

A slight bit of OCD has me cleaning the rust and corrosion off of every bolt under the hood
Before and after of a bolt...
Before I added the intake heat sheild. It was just too quiet with the stock airbox.
Then I decided to straighten out the bent heat sheild and put it in.

Man that reminds me of when I first worked on my neon. Spark plugs had 66 000mi on them, and I had to drill and extract a few airbox screws as well.
Looking great man.

What did you use on your motor mount? Any pics of it?

I sprayed the motor mount with a Duplicolor textured metalic paint and used a wire wheel attachment on a pneumatic grinder to clean the heads of the bolts. I also used tons of degreaser, polish and amorall multipurpose auto cleaner to get rid of all the crap. Im using a texture silver and textured black spraypaint along with some flat and gloss black. Some of the stuff just needed refinishing and couldn't be cleaned. This weekend I'm removing the intake manifold and painting it with the same stuff I useed on the motor mount.
Tonights work... painted the IAC, throttle cable bracket, cruise servo and cruise bracket.
Woot, post 1000!

Where the heck was this car located??? I've never seen rusty bolts like that under the hood of a car. Holy crap. And is it just me or does it look like your pass. side motor mount is slightly off? Like it's not straight, it's pointing to the pass. fender. I only notice because I opened my hood one day to find my whole engine rocked BACK and down. Motor mounts...
You are doing one fantastic job. I wouldn't have the patience!
