Don't know if you want some free power or not, but take off the axleback portion of the exhaust, should free up some power and I don't believe it will be any louder.
(Did the same thing on my ATX Turbo Neon and it was actually quieter than stock)

^^^ Take off the rear section of the exhaust? I really don't think I need any more power...
Plus I want those cutouts to be filled up.
Hey come on you guys, atleast I got rid of that first gen!
Yeah, I think I might invest in a turbo timer soon. That will turn off the turbo quicker or something? I really don't want to come to a stop and let it idle for 2 minutes, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
I will be ordering a shift knob and clear corner bulbs from you guessed it, MPX!
I noticed, after driving a reg 2nd gen, a 1st gen, and this SRT-4. Seems to me my reg 2nd gen was easier to steer and felt lighter. The 1st gen was a loud car, thats all I have to say about that. Now this SRT-4 feels like a sports car, it has a nice grumble to it and seems a bit heavy. The seats are very confortable and all those gauges make you feel like you are in an airplane, specially that damn huge wing when you look back in your rear view. When you start it up, as upposed to my other Neons, its really really quiet and smooth. Very smooth ride I might add.

what happens is after you shut the car down, even if the key is out, it will continue to run for a minute or so. to allow the turbo to cool down. saves turbos. saves money.

Ya, had a turbo timer myself, i think i had it set for 45 seconds or so.
Don't forget to lube everything up, change the fluids and all that jazz.
Run some combustion chamber cleaner through it too.

But yeah, whats this combustion chamber cleaner you speak of, I am a total noob when it comes to these cars mechanically.
So any basic know how would be appreciated.

actually, LCPL's car was red, but it was ATX TUBRO!!!!!!!
Basically, a turbo timer makes it so the car runs for a min after you turn it off. If you run your car really hard, or up the boost from stock, you can get a turbo timer, or you can just idle the car for 1 min after you stop to get some cooler oil into the turbo.

U spray combustion chamber cleaner into the intake and it goes into the head cleaning out carbon deposits.
It cost about 8 bucks from the Dodge dealership and has instructions on how to use it.

Cooling down your turbo depends on your situation. If you boosted right before you got to your destination, let it sit a couple of minutes. If you boosted but drove a couple of miles then reached your destination, a minute at most. Apply no boost, think of it as a N/A car.

I want one so freakin bad but I keep doing dumb shit like sinking money into this fucking POS 2000 ES I have right now. Congrats man I know how you must feel . As a matter of fact one pulled up next to me at a light today same color and everything and when we took off and he switched gears I thought I soiled my shorts because of how loud and distinct his HKS SSQV sounded. It sounded so agggressive like "I got balls under the hood" man oh man I can't wait . good luck now DBB 50 Trim that bitch!!!!!!!

Since the tips are polished stainless, go out and get some metal polish. The Mothers mag polisg is very good.-CgPeon- wrote: Oh yeah, what do you guys recommend for cleaning exhaust tips. Mine is so grotty.
You can also use steel wool on the polished stainless but it might need a little polish/buffing to remove any small scratched that the steel wool makes. But I only would reccomed steel wool if it is really bad; Try some polish first.

Turbo Timers are a complete gimik. All you need to do is make sure you don't boost for the last mile or so of your journey and you will be fine. And to be safe I will let the engine run while I get ready for whatever, IE roll windows up, grab coats/sweatshirts, whatever.
Nice to see you finally got one, and in a color you like. How long have you been talking about getting one now?

Don't worry man, I will.definetly keep the full coverage... even when the car is paid off. BRR curse FTL
I been talking for quite a while about getting one. I was actually planning on saving until next year, but I had a bad feeling about this 96 ACR for some reason. Bad gut feeling.. Only had that car for a little over a month, I drove the piss out of it too.Turbo Timers are a complete gimik. Yeah, I checked out the manual and if you are driving it "normally" you don't have to cool the turbo down, now if yo are driving it hard, it says to idle for 3 minutes. But yeah, I totally understand what you are saying Frizbe, just lay off the gas and don't go into boost at all before you are about to turn the car off.
I keep forgetting that it has power windows!
I changed the oil today, the previou owner gave me a 5 qt jub of 5w-30 Mobil One, so I used that with a Wix filter. It runs nice!
I just need to transfer the warranty over, its registered and everything, Yeeeeeah!!!
