One of my dreams has come true. =) *New pics*

Yup, you read it correctly. I have accomplished one of my dreams. I have always wanted a Neon SRT-4 since they were released in 02. I ended up getting an 01 3 speed ATX for a really good deal and I started from there, not knowing much about the potential they had. Then I found good ol' 2gn.org buy doing a simple yahoo search for 2nd generation Neon sites and it popped up. I have been hooked ever since and I gradually started to mod my car... The wrong way. Got rims, altezzas, vibrant exhaust, clear third brake light. It looked like poop and I will never have rims on my car before getting it lowered. I finally did get it lowered and added a few other things to my 01 here and there, tried to keep it clean. I just got tired of having an automatic and not have much power, just show. Don't get me wrong, I loved my CG Neon to death, I was just running out of options and really didn't want to do a swap. No place to do it, not really any time and it seemed like it would be ALOT of headaches due to my average auto working skillz. So I decided to save up, sell my car and get an SRT-4. I had a mission, and that mission wouldn't be over until I got one. So I whored the SRT-4 forums/cars.com/ and the local newspaper and searched for used SRT-4's. Most of them were red... Not really a fan of red, it looks good and all, I just couldn't "connect" with it.

It is a "Neon" after all. I eventually as of 3 weeks ago, came across a silver 04 in Iowa for a decent price. I asked a bunch of questions about it and bothered the seller atleast once a day. Well anyways everything fell into place like a puzzle and...
Mission accomplished!
Pictures were taken literally 5 minutes pulling in the driveway.
Heres something odd, on the way out to Kelley, Iowa, it started to rain all the way up there pretty much to his house. Then all of a sudden it stopped right when we pulled in the driveway.

And the sun started to come out!
Then on my way home like literally 5 blocks away from home it started to rain!? I pulled in the driveway, grabbed my camera and took a few quick shots as the sun was out and the rain was coming down.. got done taking the pictures and it stopped raining... Weird huh.
For the curious cats out there I got it for $13,100 with a 5yr /100k bumper to bumper warranty which will transfer to me.
Paid in cash.
45k miles. (Mostly interstate miles) Ames to Marshalltown 5 days a week.
Never driven in the winter.
$7300 from my own bank and a signature loan for $5800. Loan is set at 8% for 3 years. $180 something a month, sinsurance is $120 for full coverage. I plan on paying it off in 2 years and I will probably get liability in like 3 months since its paid off which means cheaper rates.
The shift knob has came off already like 2 times going intop 2nd.

I plan on getting that one from ModernPerformance that won't fall off.
It came with a Mopar blow off valve, he took it off because he said it was too loud.
I could of sworn I heard something was wrong with Mopar Blow Off valves and it messed things up... Anyone know anything?
You can't see in the picts, but it has a sunroof. cool beans
Sorry for the long rant, I am just so happy!
I am gonna baby the hell out this thing and not drive the piss out of it like some people do... I will ALWAYS have respect for ALL 2nd gen Neons and will never be an asshat.
I will update with more pictures!

You will love your new beast! Looks good and clean.
As far as the Mopar BOV, they tended to leak and not seat right, so its better its gone!
Way to go

damn...very nice...nothing wrong with the mopar BOV as long as you install it correctly. Most people tend to install it wrong so it leaks and it's annoying as hell...the damn thing blows off even in vacuum and when you barely goose it in reverse...I highly recommend you pickup an aftermarket uppipe with a nice aftermarket BOV such as the HKS SSQ, Tial, etc...

Don't worry about the Mopar blow off valve, put it on and go pshhhhhhhhht-ing around town, it's soo much funner. Here a pshhhhhht, there a pshhhhht, everywhere a pshhhhht, pshhhhhht.
By the way, that insurance rate is great, don't take full coverage off. Trust me, it's a bad move.
I have had too many friends accidentally hit someone after dropping thier full coverage, and then they are screwed on fixing thier own car with thier own money.

Wow, man, you're paying $60 less a month for 2 fewer years... I think I did something wrong. Can't imagine why I didn't think to look for a used SRT when I bought my car. Oh well... looks very nice and you got it for a killer price.
Did '04s have Limited slip or was that an '05 only thing?

And CG, go get full coverage before you wreck that thing!

Congrats! You are gonna love that thing. Take it around town and watch the compliments pour in. Save up for the aftermarket blow off valve and pipe though. From what i have read on srtforums the mopars sound cool but don't do anything for the turbo at all. I'm still debating on installing mine because of this.

You fuckin prick...why you gotta gloat? HUH? YOU FRIGGIN BASTARD! And what's worse...you had to rub it in that it's SILVER! I hate you, I HATE YOU!
Now that I've calmed down, CONGRATS MAN! I want one SOOO bad, but my insurance is absolutely shot right now, so it's not gonna happen until my record gets clean. Then by that time I'll probably be able to pick one up for around $7,500-8,000

Thanks for all the congrats you guys, I really do love it. Its sooo nice. How about do you cool down the turbo? Do you just put it in neutral and let it idle for a bit? I am curious on how to do that.
I washed, claybared and waxed it today. Claybaring is a must, it takes out scuffs and little scratches and specs of crap that washing doesn't take off. Took off the Iowa dealership thingy on the back. The wheels were sooo gross, I still need to clean up the red calipers.
Well here are the new pictures as promised:

He put 2 autometer gauges. A oil pressure one that works and a air/fuel ratio that needs to be welded to an 02 sensor or something.

I do have full coverage, I will keep it. Like lambostealth said, its a good idea to have FC on a car like this.
I dont hate you...i liked your cg but this is great too

When the paint starts going bad, I absolutely promise it will turn into CG.

I plan on keeping it for a LONG time so the I really don't care too much about the mileage. All I know is I need to clean the hell out of that engine bay. Its so

ing.
Oh yeah, what do you guys recommend for cleaning exhaust tips. Mine is so grotty.

congrats on the srt

nothing is really wrong wit the mopar valve. just that some people have had boost leaks from it so most dont like it.

for cooling down the turbo you just let it idle for a few min and you should be good. might not be a bad idea to get a turbo timer so even if you are in a hurry it will still cool down the turbo.
