ok, I'm from southern GA and honestly.......Donks, Boxes, and Bubbles are ALL over the place down here.
They look at me with a hooked up Neon and ask me the same questions yall ask: why would you do that? thats dumb
The original car at the beginning of the thread and the Monte Carlo is called a "BOX" not a donk
A Donk is the 70's model Impalas and Chevelles or others with a sloaping back windshield and trunk with circle shaped headlights
A Box is pretty much the other cars with edgy angles and shaped like a box, they usually have squarish shaped headlights too
Bubbles are the 90's model Caprice and Impala SS that are shaped like a dome towards the roof
Its common to see all of those jacked up on 22's and higher down here, so I was smiling while reading the whole thread.
Me personally, I like cars in general, and hooked up cars more. I can appreciate anyone that isn't leaving the car stock
As the summer goes on I just might add some pics of em on here for yall to see

The original car at the beginning of the thread and the Monte Carlo is called a "BOX" not a donk
yes each one has a seperate name .. but the name Donk is what has been overall accepted for the style of work ... it does also apply to a certain one ... but it fits the style ...
for example ... rice can also mean JDM euro .. and a bunch of other things
rat rod can also mean, hoodride, volksrod, and also a rat rod ...
any time there is a new style that comes out ... it never fails that one of the names coming from that style is picked out for the overall name of all of the cars similar to that style ...
that is the case here, ... no it was not voted on .. but overall the public accepts Donk as the name of the style ... you tell some girl on the street ... 'hey nice Box' .. you are likely going to get slapped ... but if you say Donk ... thats another story.

You are right, I agree on what you are saying....to the general public that isn't as deep or understanding on it.......all of the cars are called "DONKS"
I was just pointing out that the do indeed have different names.
In the Southeast you would most likely hear the different names called out. But in other regions Donk is used for all of em

Here in Florida we just call them "Stupid"
There's an "Oreo" one driving around.
It's

ing. He drives around with the gansta lean with his Crappy Stereo Bumpin' I laugh every time because he actually thinks that the people who are looking at him think he is cool.

i am in south central ... and there are tons of them around here ... to the point that they almost outnumber the 4*4 trucks from the rednecks ... and a good majority of the owners will still call them Donks ... luckally i only have to be around em for half the year ... because most of them were already trying to convince me to do junk like that to my neon as well ...

this style and the 12" gold rims w/extended axels are two things I just don't quite understand. i personally don't find either attractive, but to each their own.

most of the time the gold rims isnt extended axles .. it is full reverse offset wheels.

See what i know.... hahaha... i still don't understand it.

i don't understand that one either .. it can destroy axles ... i have seen many a car driving around with a bowed up suspension because someone ran wheels like that for a while on it ...
