Trust me there were many days I just wanted to say f#ck it and ram my car into a tree sideways and collect the insurance! But most days I'm glad I didn't. I searched forever before I decided on my bodykit and was so happy to get it on and fitted right, then the asses at the paintshop melted it! (If you went to my cardomain page you know what I mean!) But when you own a car, espescially a modified DD car, you just have to expect that sh!t happens, it will always cost money, and never be done. Chin up laddy, your in good company!

You're 100% right. I should of waited.
But you're also right, it's a deal I couldn't of passed up.

Um. I gave my sister my clear corners... let her borrow my rims... um... I'm putting MY car back to stock... yeah. I spent too much $$ also. I guess all my money is now going towards my Miata.

I hate phases. I did the Razzi phase. I did the semi-stock phase. I'm now doing the "let's go back to effin stock to fly low on the radar" phase. Sad but true. You are not alone Opi!

I've sat back... thought about it.... and I think I'm going to cut my losses, and just keep pushing forward.
I'm going to TRY and pick up a set of stock yellow 03+ bumpers, some stock tail lights, and just throw those on for the time being, then call up buddy club, and order my new kit. I'll keep it look pretty much completely stock for awhile, then when the time/money is right, I'll get my car into show form.
So, if ANYONE has any stock parts, for REALLY EFFING CHEAP, I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands.
PLEASE, help me out here

just did...... thats not bad then. i'm assuming the fitment is good on the front and its just the cracks?
if thats the case, get your ass to the autoparts store and buy
1 big can of "bondo-hair" (bondo mixed with fiberglass"
regular bondo
latex gloves
sand paper
plastic spreaders (putty knife-type things

)
*40 grit
*80 grit
*200 grit
*1000 grit
either get the sponge types or get a sanding block (the sandpaper holder) and get to work. it also helps if you already have a dremel. mix the bondo-hair with the hardner and apply the mixture to the back of the bumper... once that is hard, mix the regular bondo and put it in the front. wait till its dry and then start sanding. it will probably ltake you but a whole day to do it. if you really think about it... you can't fuck it up more

and who knows, if you like the way it turns out... maybe you'll go ahead and fix the rear yourself too.

Fitmit isn't BAD, but it does have a gap near a headlight... and there is a possibility of screwing it up. *laughs* in which case, I'll have even less of a chance selling it than i already do.
If i had at least -a little- experance in fiberglass, then I'd do it, but at this moment in time, i just don't trust myself.

damnit opi if you bring the car to carisle with the kit on it i will repair it right there at the show, fitmit issues are not the end of the world. most kits dont fit hell i bought muy front bumper from buddy club it it didnt fit right i had to fix it. dont go back then forth you will lose out that way.
BRING IT TO CARISLE

It's not JUST fitmit (altough it is partially) it's mainly the fact the "repairs" that were done to the front bumper, are falling apart, and of corse, i don't know how to fix them.

J-Villa, I'm sorry, but your opnion doesn't count.
You're way to much into stock parts. Everyone here that has a "show" car, or "show" parts, those are who I'm really listening too.
Like I said, I'm going with stock 03 bumpers until I can afford a new kit. JBucky05 already agreed to a trade for the most part. I'll be rolling stock with air for awhile, and I'm ordering my BC2 kit soon.
Here's hopeing I do things right this time.

, but in all honesty Josh, I feel the same way as you do sometimes. Every time I even think about spending just a few dollars on my car I think to my self 'Why am I doing this?' Then I say I shouldn't even bother because I know that spending money on my car is pointless. Personally I have ups and downs with my car, some days I hate it sometimes I love it.
The thing that makes us car enthusiasts happy is our car. You wanted to modify your car to your tastes to get some sort of gratitude out of it. Whether it be to impress people, or to set yourself apart from others. Also, I think you did found out what the impacts of impulse buying does, JK. I say pick up from where you left off from, and finish what you had planned and then from there decide to stop or keep on moving along?

Mike- You're right, it will be nice... and that's what I'm going to do, no matter how long it takes me.
This week, I'm going to pick up my stock parts. Saturday I ordered a new kit, and it will be shipping out today hopefully.
This will be right eventually.

As long as you are happy with how the car ends up looking and it doesn't keep you from being at Carlisle, go for it!
