ya everyone was fine, necks a little bit sore but nothing to worry about
the thing is, i was 100% sure she had a red light, after the fact, officers told me that i have to yield to traffic coming through, she had green too, but even so, i didn't see anyone and was pretty much all the way through when she clipped me.
they said it'll be up to the insurance companies who's responsible, all the people there said it was definitely her fault, people also said that being that the damage is from behind the front tire back she is to blame because she didn't have control of the vehicle.. not sure how its gonna turn out - any input on this?

Glad to hear that no one was seriously injured.
Did by chance the witnesses give statements to the police (recorded statements) saying that the other driver was at fault? It would help you out if you can get a copy of those for the insurance company.

the one estimate i've gotten so far - over 4500..
the pictures actually make it look not as bad as it is, the b pillar is junk, the a pillar is bent, the c pillar is bowed out a little bit, both doors, fender, inside the door jams there's kinks everywhere... really a nightmare
i think my father and i are going to do all the work on it, we'll figure something out, its now really just sinking in how bummed out i am, no word from the ins. companies yet.

As far as who's at fault, unfortunately (if it's the same as in Canada) you are. You failed to yield the right of way for oncoming traffic. If she had the green light, and you were turning left, and you turned infront of her and she hit you, it's your fault.
Sorry about the car man, hopefully it all gets worked out and gets fixed or replaced. Glad you're ok

if you or your dad can weld it wouldn't be a hard fix .. just find a donor car for the pass side door frame clip ... and start cutting ... less it isn't majorly damaged then weld on some rods and use a slide hammer to pull some of the smaller kinks back in place.

ya man i agree that i have to yield to her green light and thats what i thinks gonna get me. i really think she had to have been going pretty fast tho, i looked and it was good so i came through, didn't even see her coming, just a bad situation to be in, personally i think it's gonna come out 50/50 and i'm just gonna have to pay for all the damage on my car.
-ya my dad owned a body shop for 25 yrs, then a small dealership for 10, my brother is also a welder. so i'm pretty sure we can do the work, it's more of a matter of getting the time.

mm... you're tires look really bald...
people now a days aren't cautious when they drive. people complain to me all the time for driving like a mother fucking grandma. I look at them and shrug. I drive like a grandma because I know there are idiots out there that don't know how to drive, or are driving irresponsibly.

ya i've waiting to put my 18" wheels back on, i'm actually pretty lucky the cop didn't notice the tires are shot and write me up a ticket.
it's really a shame, most people see their car soley as transportation from point a to b and really don't care about it. i know most of you guys and girls on this forum are like me and take really good of your cars, i actually waxed the car no more than 5 hours before this happened!

noooooooo
for those of you who are unfamiliar with my car, this is how it should look right now.
just gotta pick up the pieces and move on.

SOOOOOOOO, a friend of mine and i went to check out the light today. THAT BI*** had a mf*** RED light for sure. please excuse my language but guys i've honestly never been so pissed off in my life. when i have that left green arrow to turn, the other lights are most definitely RED and we will be talking to the ins. companies and the police about this.
guys the real shame of this is that by being completely honest with the police i may have screwed myself bad. the cop was talking to me and i told him, sir the light had to have been red, i had a green left arrow and it was clear.. he wouldn't even listen to me and just kept saying that the light was green both ways and i have to yield that. biggest load of bs i've ever heard in my life. he asked me to be specific what exactly happened, i told the officer i entered the left turn on the LEFT GREEN ARROW, he asked me if the light changed at all and i told him that i'm pretty sure it turned yellow as i was in the middle of the intersection (it was night and i could see the glow on the street) then slam i got hit. that sob wrote down " i saw the light turn yellow, as in i entered the light on yellow. " even if this comes out bad for me and i want to take it to court i can't because it would cost so much to fight it vs. just fixing the car.
i stopped in to talk to my dad about this, he agreed that she ran the light and we're looking into it. then all he did was lecture and yell at me that i should have never told them i saw the light hit yellow from the glow in the street. i understand that life is tough and sometimes you need to be smarter about things. but come on, i'm 19yrs old, i've never been in an accident, my parents have always taught me to no matter what tell the straight up truth and i'm the most honest person you'll meet, i sat there on the curb looking at my baby, everything i've worked for for the past 3 summers smashed to f*, how was i supposed to decide that i should leave things out and not be honest with the cop?!
guys this has honestly been the worst week of my life, i don't mean to complain but stuff's really a complete mess and the real shame is that i'm probably gonna get f*'d over this because i was honest.

know a good laywer?????
I got the lecture from my parents about how I should be more careful when I drive after my accident a month ago that was clearly was not my fault in any way or form... its basically that they care for you, and yada yada yada.
besides... yellow is yellow, not red. and the lady still had a red light according to what you were saying.

d00d, that sux... sorry to hear all that, but guess what - you were honest, don't loose that. I say take it to court, small claims, not the big court where you need a lawyer, and sue her. Have the judge review what was said, you never said you went through a yellow arrow, you said it was green and you saw a yellow glow on the street behind you as you were going through and then WHAM! obviously, you were watching, that woman wasn't - I wonder if she was on her cell phone, wouldn't it be nice to get the court to subpoena her phone records and check times and compare them to the accident/call??

I say fight it. You did the right thing, that COP screwed you, not you. You are not in the wrong, no matter what happens. SO remember, do not loose that honesty!!!

THERE IS HOPE!
See this car?
Believe it or not, that car looked worse than yours does, and on the same side. Someone sideswiped it. Biggest difference was they totally trashed the quarterpanel, too. Got sideswiped at an angle.
Two replacement doors, a replacement fender, and some body work to the quarterpanel... the quarterpanel was chewed up right where the beauty lip runs across the top edge of the fuel door.
Now look at it!
DON'T GIVE UP!
