So I figured I would post my car here, I've been a member of anti-rice for a about 3 years now. And not all of us drive American cars, and not all of us are as ignorant as you think we are.
old Si wheels.
engine bay 7 months ago.
Current wheels
Most of us do drive imports actually, and yeah my car is lowered, Import themed wheels, but every mod on my car has some purpose, or reason for existance other than looks, becuase although all of us have simularly varying definitions of rice on our site, my personal one is, if it was done to only LOOK good, its rice.
If there is a neyon only rule in this forum please move or whatever.

You fucked up on the image codes man... might wanna fix em.
Oh, and no, we don't ALL have neons.
One of our mods owns a Toyota, couple members own/owned hondas, fords, chargers, so on and so forth.
Why the ebay engine pic?

my def of rice .. if it looks like you just bought it and bolted it on with little thought ... then .. eh, its your car .. do what you want with it ... but don't ask my opinion ...
as for yours ... nice looking ... i always did like the hatch from that year range (or the older ones) .. when done up simple .. (no wild kit or paint job .. etc) ...

Hey I like your Civic, rice or not. Not too overly done, just plain nice and neat.
Welcome to 2gn.org by the way
Not everyone owns Neons here; former owners and non-owners hang out here too.

Stock intake is on there now, pulling the air from the fenderwell.
I hate short ram intakes too, but temp that far away from the block and headers is actually only a little elevated when in motion.

We don't usually tear people down around here, unless they talk shit about someone else. Any reason there's no updated pictures?

Well the shots with my Rota knockoffs were taken like 12 days ago, No recent engine pics because thats the cleanest its been since I bought it
engine info by the way:
Block is all stock. B16b block,
Head has some work done to it. B16b head.
Minor port and polish done by a local cincy shop
3angle valve job.
Skunk2 valve train
'' Stage 2 cams
'' cam gears
'' intake mani
ported GSR Throttle body (Plan on someday running ITB's, but only when I get another car, and this isnt my daily, and I can justify spending over a thousand dollars on an intake system

Dc sports 4-1 header.
2.5 inch piping, cat delete, into an ebay muffler.
Some off brand lightened flywheel.
310cc Injectors
Basically it, I'd like to get it tuned again, because it was street tuned last time, I see a lot more potential out of this little motor with the mods done than what It feels like.

I guess they don't like things looking good. Maybe they see them as "tacky" or some sort in their point-of-view.

everything on my car has a purpose, whether its for looks or not. Hardly anything on my car is just BOLT ON modifications. Even some of the few BOLT ONs i have, have been modded or will be modded

Your car is original too. I love the paint job.
Hopefully the other AR guy chimes in here and tell us what he thinks...

Well I done know neon's very well, but it looks like the only real mod I can see from your sig is that you bagged it, and well, I'm pretty sure I could argue the point that it was done strictly for looks? suspension mods I would consider fine as long as they serve a purpose to benefit the car, instead of the driver.

What's the differance between benefitting the car and benefitting the driver?
My car benefitts me and I benefit my car

You got a nice civic there, i love the color. wouldnt that painted valve cover piece be considered rice it was done for looks right or does the paint on the cover not look foking hott....lol
welcome to the boards.

Ok, my example with that was, the lower ride height affects his ride in a negative way, therefor not benefitting the car.
But it bennefits the owner in the fact he gets +rep points or whatever.

i have to disagree with the lowering hurting the ride, its the lower profile tires that hurt the ride more. i rode in a friends truck that had a 4-6" drop and it was a smooth ride.
and the neons ride sucks (imo) so you cant do much to hurt it.

yeah physics blah blah.
but how many cars at an Auto-X meet do you see that are bagged.
Lowering that car for the intentions of improving the cornering would have been done with a nice sport tuned suspension, hell even cut springs I would argue would have been better for the car (not the looks)
